"We were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of our room for a lodging that's a bit older. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful, and we were quite happy to have found such a welcoming place for our quick stopover. We ate dinner at Mel's Hilltop Restaurant, which was surprisingly excellent (surprising only because we expected more diner-type food, but their choices were not only varied and enticing, but absolutely beautifully presented and done. Their smashburger was outstanding, as were the sweet potato fries they served with it. Because of the season (longest day of the year - cold), we were about the only ones there other than the maintenance crew, but everyone was so friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay with them again if the opportunity arises!"
