Welcome to Haus Zugspitze! Nestled on a wooded hillside just 0.3 miles (a 2-minute walk) from the Bavarian-inspired village of downtown Helen, this three-level cabin offers the ultimate mountain escape.

If you are looking for a sterile, five-star hotel experience, this isn’t the place for you. Haus Zugspitze is a true rustic mountain retreat—a cozy, no-frills cabin designed for those who want to unplug, slow down, and share meaningful quality time with family and friends in the great outdoors. Because you will be tucked deep into the woods, you will be fully surrounded by nature and all that comes with it. Wildlife sightings are frequent; bears pass through the area regularly, and you may see spiders or other insects during your stay. While we keep the cabin treated and tidy, occasional encounters with bugs and wildlife are part of this authentic natural setting. If you love the raw beauty of the mountains and a traditional camp atmosphere, you have found your perfect match!

🛏️ The Space & Property Layout (Sleeps up to 12)
This home is spread across three distinct levels, offering plenty of space and privacy for families and small groups to both gather and spread out.

First Floor (Entry Level): Features a private suite with a queen bed, a cozy sleeper sofa sitting area, a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The washer and dryer are also located here for your convenience.

Second Floor (Main Living Level): The main gathering space includes a fully equipped kitchen (stocked with cookware, dishes, and a combo Keurig/drip coffee maker) and a comfortable living room with a Smart TV. Step outside to enjoy a large front deck perfect for lounging or a smaller back deck with a propane grill for outdoor dining. This level also includes a king bedroom and a full hallway bathroom.

Third Floor (Top Level): Features two queen bedrooms and a shared full hallway bathroom, creating a great setup for children or additional guests.

🌲 Outdoor Oasis & Important Wildife Rules
Relax on oversized decks with patio furniture, take in the fresh mountain air, and listen to the peaceful sounds of nature. Because we share this environment with local wildlife, strict rules apply:

Bear Safety: All trash must be fully bagged and securely closed inside the provided bear-proof cans. Never leave windows cracked, and do not leave food outside or visible, as this will attract bears and other animals. Our neighbors will report any `bear trash` incidents immediately.

Parking & Driveway: The road leading up to the cabin is a private drive with a steeper incline for the final 1/8th mile. You will share a driveway with our sister property, Haus Magdeburg. Parking is strictly limited to 3 vehicles. (Note: For large groups up to 40, you can book both cabins together under our listing “Summit Berg Weg”).

Enjoy full, exclusive access to the entire cabin, equipped with Wi-Fi and Smart TVs throughout. Please note that some doors with digital locks are reserved for mechanicals and cleaning staff only. We maintain a strictly family-focused environment—absolutely no parties are allowed.

A signed guest agreement is required by local ordinance to gain access to the property. It will be emailed the week of your arrival and must be signed before check-in instructions are released. The agreement outlines local codes and policies on Occupancy limits, Parking, Noise & quiet hours, Trash handling, Pets, Events & gatherings, Property damage, Prohibited commercial activity Absolutely no disclosed and authorized parties, events, or unauthorized visitors.
EVENT FRIENDLY HOMES POSSIBLY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL FEES, INSURANCE AND AGREEMENTS
QUIET HOURS are strictly enforced from 9pm TO 8AM, per local ordinance. Violations may result in immediate cancellation without refund and fines starting at $1,000, charged to the guest
PARKING: Maximum number of vehicles: 3 in front of the home WITHOUT blocking neighboring home.
PETS: must be pre-approved in writing before check-in. Pet fees must be paid in full and have a kennel for when not attended.
No excessive barking or unattended pets. Guests are fully liable for all pet-related damages or disturbances.Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds unless covered with provided protection.Guests are expected to clean up after pets indoors and outdoors. PLEASE DON`T LET THEM RUN FREE- WE ARE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND WILDLIFE IS ALL AROUND
TRASH: All trash must be fully bagged and placed in designated bear receptacles in the cans in the driveway. Cans must be fully closed. Any trash left out and Bear mess clean up is an additional fee. CLOSE all car windows and DO NOT leave food in the cars to avoid damage.

NATURE: Refunds will not be issued due to these natural elements or environmental conditions.Guests acknowledge that the property is located in a natural environment and may be subject to varying weather conditions, wildlife activity, and ambient noise from nature or surrounding areas. We do not make any guarantees regarding weather, wildlife behavior, or the suitability of the environment for specific activities or purposes. Refunds or discounts will not be issued due to weather events, natural occurrences, environmental noise, or other circumstances beyond our control.
CREDIT CARDS: Please be advised: Credit card processing fees are non-refundable, even in the event of a cancellation or refund. These fees are charged by the payment processor and cannot be recovered by the host. Refunds will be issued net of processing fees. By booking, you agree to this policy.
SMOKING AND VAPING are not permitted inside the property under any circumstance. If smoking please go outside and dispose of butts in trash
A minimum $1,500 cleaning fee will be charged for violations.Underage drinking and illegal substance use are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal.
Check-out is strictly by 10:00 AM (IF WE CAN ACCOMMODATE AND WE KNOW ABOUT BEFORE WE WILL LET YOU KNOW IF EARLY IN OR LATE OUT IS AVAILABLE IN WRITING)
