"The staff, especially Reception and a young blonde-haired lady who had only been there about 3 weeks were exceptional. Having the bar & the restaurant on the top floor is a bit odd, but it is comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very poor as was the quality of the wine. The gentleman acting as Maitre was brusque, untidy and unwelcoming. We booked our table for 7 and were prompt. But he wanted us to have courses in rapid succession. When we asked for a pause his response was that it was...

"Clean, quiet and friendly. A good place to stop and break up a journey. Comfy bed, excellent shower, good beer."

"Charming hotel in tranquil setting but with very easy access to major road networks. We were a bit worried that the hotel might be noisy but even after a large prom event all was very peaceful and quiet by 11.30pm. Staff were very helpful and friendly and our room was very spacious, tastefully appointed and had a very comfy bed. Would definitely return."
