The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful, and the amenities are excellent. If you plan to do a canal tour, definitely plan to do this through the hotel’s boat, The Tourist, which boasts a historical link to Winston Churchill. "The hotel is a historic building which lends to the charm of Amsterdam. We had a superior deluxe room so it was a very nice size, large bathroom and large to the ceiling windows with remote controlled drapes. Breakfast provided a great choice of foods and pastries. We did not use the spa but it appeared many guests did. We walked to all attractions and it is close to the central station. The only issue we had was requesting to restock our complimentary refrigerator and that never happened. Also reception never picked up the phone when we called. The lounge staff were great!"
