Hotel Royal Bridges

"We just got off the cruise in Rotterdam and knew that there and Amsterdam were not going to be cheap/affordable for our day off before we flew home. My friend really wanted to go to Royal Delft, so we looked at hotels and could not believe how affordable this area is! It was comfortable enough for us that we decided to have two separate rooms and just chill. The Hotel Royal Bridges is an old structure, quaint, authentic, and beautiful. That said, expect small, windy stairs, sometimes quite sharp with an angle. There is an elevator, but many of the floors have half and quarter levels, so you may have to carry luggage up a couple steps at times. If you are fortunate to have a room on the ground floor, you have a maze to coordinate…my room was apparently right behind the desk, but we could not find it and I jokingly said only if it’s in the kitchen…Which it was! When you open the door you take two very sharp steps down into a room that is like a cavern! There is a non-functioning fireplace, a huge bed and a door to the street which I believe was probably bolted locked. The room just made us chuckle every time we walked in and not in a negative way. I will note that you are on the street so people at times were stopping outside the hotel door, outside of my door, and having phone calls or talking or smoking and that can be distracting for some people. My friend’s room was on the first floor, and she loved it, very comfortable and got a great sleep! Noted, my shower was not a show"

"The location of the hotel is great, it was close to the city center and the train station. It's in an old building with a character and nicely remodeled. Some rooms don't have AC, so definitely check. The rooms have a mini fridge and some had a kitchenette. The staff was kind and helpful anytime we had a question or needed anything. Also good for families with kids. We stayed here twice already."
