Spectacular Mountain retreat- First time this home offered as a rental

  • Sitting at 4,500 feet of elevation, this amazing home offers a 180-degree birds-eye view of the Cashiers Valley, lakes, and the mountains beyond. Perched high atop Whiteside Mountain's peak, the experience of being in this home is that of a peregrine falcon soaring through the air.

    Cozy up to the fireplace in the living room while admiring the long-range mountain-views through its two-story-high wall of windows. A well-equipped chef's kitchen and dining room are just steps from the living room and the four-season room. Venture out onto the uncovered porch for some sunshine and enjoy the uninterrupted vistas. Wake up in the primary bedroom suite located on the upper floor, with a king bed, fireplace, large screen tv, wet bar, and jetted tub. Also on the upper level is queen bedroom with sweeping views and ensuite bath. On the main level there are two bedrooms. One with a queen bed and sliding doors, with a walk out to the adjoining four-season room to enjoy your morning coffee. The other is an additional queen bedroom and bath, which offers a fireplace and clawfoot tub.

    There's something for everyone on the lower level with its family room and kitchenette, which is perfect for a movie night followed by a game of pool or table tennis. Another sleeping area provides more space for grandchildren with its rustic bunk beds as well as a full bath. A laundry room off the garage entry offers added convenience. Nearby, the Whiteside Mountain hiking trail is the picture-perfect setting for making lifelong family memories, and it is easily accessible up the end of the private drive. Holidays are a one (1) week minimum.

Beautiful location and wonderful home! We will definitely be looking here first any time we want to come up to the Highlands area. Perfect accommodations for our group of 10. Host made check in very easy and everyone was comfortable.

The views are beautiful. Kitchen had everything but was poorly organized. The microwave and range were not clean. The house has not been maintained well. Having codes to get into the gate and home worked very well. The home manager handled things quickly and professionally.

Colorful Slice of Heaven

The fall leaves and views were perfect. We hit the perfect week. The house had incredible views. The house was great for what we needed. I love the location between Highlands and Cashiers.

Perfect for our family & AMAZING view

The view alone is worth a stay here, but the house is beautiful, tastefully decorated (great art!!), has comfy furniture, lots of space for together and alone time plus a great, well-appointed kitchen for cooks. Our family of nine (grandparents, adult kids and their kids) would absolutely stay here again. The location right between Cashiers and Highlands is also a big positive!

Beautiful View

Beautiful view and home. Walk to Whiteside Mountain. A warm home with all you need and space for everyone. The view from back deck is a slice of Heaven. Pictures do not do it justice. Will make a return trip if home is available next year.

My Best Rental Ever

I've rented large houses in Vail, Aspen, Deer Valley, Hamptons, Camden Maine and none of them were as beautiful or decorated like this one. We had nice china to serve our meals on. The views were spectacular and as advertised. Eddy, our house manager was incredibly helpful. If I go back to Highlands, I would want to stay here again!!!!

Spectacular Getaway

This is a fantastic home that is perfectly designed, decorated and located to enable a large group of friends come together and have a fantastic time. The kitchen/dining/sun room are aligned to allow 8 adults to create and enjoy memorable, lingering, meals. The living room enables everyone to gather or to split up into separate groups, and the lower level hosts cutthroat pingpong, pool, or domino matches. When all done, the four spacious bedrooms are equally spacious and comfortable and get everyone ready to do it all over again tomorrow.

Amazing views in a fantastic area

This house is in a perfect area...so close to Whiteside Mt. Trail. The views are spectacular. Eddy, our contact was very responsive and available. The house is layed out perfectly - with each bedroom having its own bathroom. We enjoyed the porch the most! The outside of the house really needs some TLC. We would love to come back to this house! Had a great time

We had a great time, and the property was really nice. Comfortable home with great views. We did have some inclement weather with a lot of drizzle and fog, so finding the home at night was pretty awful. We couldn't see more than 5 feet in front of us driving up the mountain, the house numbers are black. If you plan to come up during the night and there is any fog, just be prepared.

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If I was asked to summarize our Atop Whiteside Mountain experience in 3 words they would simply be: BLESSED, BLESSED, BLESSED! Blessing #1: Making wonderful memories with my family. This home afforded us every opportunity to simply relax and enjoy our time with each other. Cozying up next to the living room fireplace, playing cards/board games/simply talking (no phones allowed!!)/etc. was a daily enjoyment. Shooting pool and playing ping pong on the lower level allowed the competitive juices to flow, bringing boisterous laughter that could be heard throughout the house. And gathering at the dinner table (all 10 of us) was such a treat, preventing anyone from feeling like they were "shunned" to the kid's table!!Blessing #2: the views and location!!! Oh my, the sunrises and sunsets were nothing less than AWESOME and reminded all of us of the wonderful creation God provided for us to witness and enjoy, and to offer up our praises to Him for his perfect work! Atop Whiteside is conveniently located to so many hiking trails that we had no reason to stay in the house during the day (despite the 20-30 degree temps) and get out and explore more of the great outdoors! One suggestion: bring a good camera and tripod so you can take family photos...I guarantee you the backgrounds you have available CANNOT be beat!Blessing #3: Eddy and the entire Silver Creek team were professional, but more importantly, personal. The Silver Creek team has done a great job keeping the home well maintained with very comfortable amenities, plenty of linens, and a well stocked kitchen for a family of 10. The home was also very clean and orderly, although some "spring cleaning" underneath the furniture is in order :).Bottom line: a great home for gathering family and friends to make wonderful memories and appreciate the beauty of God's creation!!!

This property has the same view from the back deck!! The property was built into the landscape and rock and has such a wonderful feel. The house has plenty of space for large families or groups. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.

Getaway with a great view

We are highly satisfied with our stay! The house had spectacular views and everything you could ever need in a house away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked; you could easily cook the most intricate meal. The bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of clean towels provided. The downstairs space was perfect for entertaining. Overall, a very good experience! Can't wait to be back in the near future.

Beautiful property

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Great views

Great views. The house sleeps 10 but only had 4 chairs. Eddy the property manager is great!!

Many inexcusable complaints. Property was not prepared for use.

Gorgeous view and beautiful home. Drain field was over flowing in front yard; fireplaces not working, TV remotes needed batteries and still worked intermittently. House had not been properly cleaned.
