"This is the place to stay in Chania! We traveled to Greece in late April for Easter and stayed 3 nights at the hotel Porto Veneziano. It's the perfect spot! It's nestled into the back of the inlet with a fantastic view of the lighthouse. Right on the water! Most of the foot traffic is from those going the lighthouse. Otherwise, especially at night, the walkway is quiet. Despite being set back from the harbor, from the Veneziano it's an easy stroll to the many shops, restaurants, and tavernas Chania has to offer. Also, the hotel is a great launching point to various day trips. We went to the Elafonisi beach (they loan you beach towels). Port Veneziano itself is just what you would expect from a classy waterfront hotel. The hotel lobby is comfortably clean as are the rooms. If the weather is right they can open the doors to the many outside tables with umbrellas. All this with service, morning til night. On the bar side there is a delightful terrace with tables to enjoy your morning coffee. They have a great dining room. Breakfast is substantial and stays open til 10:30. The restaurant in the evening serves delicious dishes that deserve mentioning. The parking is free and I was never without a space. It's also in the back and side of the hotel with a gate and security cameras monitored by the front desk. The rooms have balconies and I would look for one facing the water. The staff is one of the things that set them apart. Check in was easy with compliments going out to Vasili"

"Very nice hotel in Chania in a convenient location. We were given a voucher for a free drink on arrival (fruit punch with or without vodka). Room was a good size and although we were facing the road we were not disturbed by any noise. Lovely rain shower, usual facilities in room with complimentary water. Breakfast was very good with wide choice of food and drinks. On site parking available at a charge which was a great help, although it is very tight. Fortunately we only had a small car. Would recommend this hotel."

"If you are visiting Chania, staying in old town is exactly where you want to be for easy access to everything, and being very walkable. Monestary Estate Venetian Harbor is just that, and is minutes from the harbor and incredible restaurants and shopping in old town. The hotel is modern, but is very cool to still see original architecture on display through protected glass casing. The front desk staff and dining staff are as friendly as you can get! Breakfast every morning was included with the freshest orange juice, would recommend getting the Cretan breakfast for two every time. Mones restaurant in general is great, get the lamb if you go! We stayed in the design suite with patio and hot tub and it was perfect for what we needed for our trip in Crete. The bed is comfortable. Using the private hot tub at night is perfect for the cool Crete evenings. They have a small pool area that you can reserve for an hour that also doubles as a massage area, which I partook in and was amazing. The location of the hotel is on a small alley, is very peaceful and I felt very safe here. My husband and I stayed at this location for our honeymoon during our time in Crete and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area."

"Palazzo di Pietro was hands-down our favourite accommodation of our trip. It is such charming place with wonderful staff. The decor is rustic and lovely, and totally fits into the aesthetic of the Chania Old Town area. I adored the four-poster bed and all of the unique touches in the room. The rooftop terrace/garden was an added bonus and was a great place to relax after a busy day. Eleutheria, the owner, clearly cares deeply about her clients. She was very friendly and happy to chat about recommendations for what to do, see, and eat. Roxani was also lovely and very helpful. There aren't too many rooms in total, so the staff always had time for us. Best of all was Voula, the little cat who lives at the hotel! She doesn't go into the rooms or bother the guests but if you are interested in spending some time with her she is the loveliest little rooftop companion. A brief word of caution if you're renting a car: there are plenty of parking options within walking distance, except on Saturday evenings, which is when we arrived. The old part of town is so busy at this time that you should be prepared to park far from the hotel, and to navigate very narrow streets full of pedestrians. If I planned our trip again, I would either arrive earlier in the day to find parking or save renting a car until Sunday if possible. Not a fault of the hotel's at all, but good to know before you go!"
