Hotel Amalias Hus

"Hotel Amalias Hus was in a great location- close to downtown and great hiking trails behind the property. The food was delicious- lovely 3 course breakfast with lots of choices and dinner was also very good. A quaint, historic property with lots of little seating areas outside to enjoy a book or a drink. All the staff were extremely accommodating. Forget to mention there are nice views of Lake Vättern from the dining room."

"Lovely traditional hotel. We stayed in the remote building which was equally as nice as main hotel. Ate on terrace overlooking lake which was a great setting."

"Although a bit of a way from Skövde, the grounds were lovely, staff incredible, room and shower very comfortable, breakfast options abundant, rates very good. We stayed over Midsommar weekend and the traditional Toast Skagan appetizer was very good. The staff were very accommodating and cheerful. They made an effort to connect with lodgers. A shoehorn was provided, which is essential."

"If you are after a truly Swedish experience, this must be it. Located next to a lake, which gives it its name, the hotel offers old world charm. An excellent breakfast and good dinner round it off. Just keep in mind that this is an historic property so rooms are a little smaller but cozy and with good beds."

"Clean spacious rooms. Bed was comfy. The heated Towel rack and heated floors was nice. The mini putt course was good for the kids. The breakfast had a nice selection of items."
