Welcome to Saigon 1984!
Our private 1980’s vintage home offers 6 bedrooms with enclosed bathrooms and a rooftop kitchen/living room suitable for small to large groups of friends, families or colleagues.
Our prime location in Saigon center (District 1) is surrounded by popular tourist attractions, famous local restaurants, street foods and nightlife activities.
Experience an authentic and unique local stay while enjoying modern lifestyle conveniences and the best sleeping quality.
This place was rebuilt from my childhood home in a personal attempt to bring back the authenticity of Old Sài Gòn that I’m always in love with.
We offer an Indochine style inspired with reused or remade materials to bring back the famous colonial architecture of Old Sài Gòn, including the conical gate, red bricks, wooden doors and stairways.
You’ll find antique and collectible furniture owned by my grandparents and friends, romantic flowery balconies looking down to the local neighborhood, 5-star beds and amenities for your sleeping pleasure, and a rooftop kitchen/living room with a large screen TV and Netflix ready.
It’s great for group gatherings, having some beers, talks and fun while enjoying the vibe of old Saigon. We’re proud to share “my beloved Sài Gòn” with you and other guests around the world.
You'll have the entire house just for your group.
We offer unlimited supports in person, phone and IM during your stay. Kindly refer to the following guide:
• Emergency: anytime you need.
• Normal phone & IM support: 08am – 08pm.
• In person: upon our meeting / arrangement.
You'll be staying at a typical Saigonese neighborhood with lively activities from early morning (7am) until dark. Some experiences you shouldn't miss while staying with us:
• Try the traditional Vietnamese “Phin” filter black or white coffee (with condense milk) right at the front of the alley. Be aware that it’s quite strong and bitter for most foreigners.
• Walking alongside Tran Dinh Xu street, heading to Bui Vien walkstreet, you will find a street vendor opposite of Circle K CVS selling exotic grilled squid and fish from 8pm – late. Grabbing a beer and sitting on the street talking to each other, and that’s how the local chill every night...
• For more local experiences, pls don't hesitate to discuss with me, I'm more than happy to provide recommendations to ensure you'll have a memorable stay at Sài Gòn.
We recommend installing GRAB app (similar to Uber / Lynch…) on your smartphone to avoid price bargaining headache. It’s the dominant ride-hailing app in Vietnam for now. Pls refer to all transportation options:
• Taxi: most comfortable way to avoid long summer heat & rain. But beware of the traffic during peak hours. When you can’t catch a Grab taxi, opt for these two taxi brands: Vinasun or Mai Linh. I'd not recommend you to hire a car, since it’s almost impossible for foreigners to drive a car in Saigon.
• Bike: most convenient and authentic way to navigate around the city. Best for city view, local experiences and escape heavy traffic. You can now book a bike via Grab app or rent a bike for as cheap as 5usd/day.
• Xích Lô (3-wheel bikes / cyclos): only available with pre-booked sightseeing tour. A special experience for those who love to see the city in slow-motion. Xích Lô used to be a favorite transportation of all Saigonese.
• Walk: very convenient with Maps available online & offline.
