19 Blue in Blackmans Bay A Touch of Country in the Suburbs!

Set in the owner's lovely, cottage garden, 19 Blue is a little oasis in this pretty suburb so close to the beach and other attractions.

19 Blue is a one bedroom, self-contained holiday cottage situated in the lovely beach-side suburb of Blackmans Bay. It has a folding cot and bedding which can accommodate up to a 2 year old child. Just fifteen minutes from Hobart, it makes an ideal base for all your Southern Tasmanian tourism destinations.

So many guests describe 19 Blue as "A home away from home" !

19 Blue has been furnished and equipped with love and care: homely country style furniture with lots of little extras much appreciated by guests. Homemade soap in the bathroom. You can even buy Soap and Body Care Products and some lovely jams and chutneys made by the owners.

A verandah runs the full length of the back of the cottage which overlooks Blackmans Bay. A private deck, at the front, makes an ideal place for a relaxing drink or a sunny morning breakfast. The cottage overlooks the owner's vegetable garden from which you may pick vegetables for your own needs. At present there are two pademelons (small wallabies) delighting our guests........

Parking is off street.

19 Blue is fully equipped with a queen size bed and laundry facilities. The kitchen has a cooktop and microwave oven.

The laundry has a washing machine with a tub dry feature then you only need to hang your washing out on the line or over the clothes airer for a short time.

We provide a loaf of homemade bread on arrival! You will find free range eggs from the owner's chooks, muesli or Weetbix. Leaf Tea or tea bags, ground coffee or instant.

The cottage is well insulated with double glazing. Heating is a reverse cycle heat pump keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer.

The lounge area has a television/DVD player with magazines and a folder with day trip itinerary suggestions. CD's and a good range of DVD's are provided as are board games.

The Bayview Shopping centre is just down the road with a newsagency, pharmacy, doctor's surgery, supermarket, takeaway and other specialty shops.

Blackmans Bay beach is a ten minute walk away where you will find 2 excellent restaurants: The Beachouse and Jack Loves Red. Also Bombay in the Bay for the BEST Indian food!

Kingston Beach is about ten minutes' walk away, in the other direction, which has a cafe strip and other shops. Both beaches have lovely cliff-top walks.

19 Blue is central for all the major tourist destinations; the Huon Valley, D'Entrecasteaux Channel with the ferry over to Bruny Island just twenty minutes drive away. Port Arthur is around one and a half hour's drive. Hobart with all that our lovely capital city has to offer just a short drive in.
