For the price and the proximity to Hobart cbd this hotel is overall good. I stayed in a private single room. The room came with a heater, a lockable tall locker with shelves, a set of clothes draws (4 draws), a desk and chair, a bedside table and a laundry basket. I found the amenities very helpful. The bed was really comfortable and pre made. The reception set up only being open for a few hours is unusual, but it was fine, if you can’t check in those hours there’s key lock boxes they will leave your key in. It was quite difficult getting up the stairs with a suitcase, but I managed. The walls and doors are a bit thin, could hear noise from outside, the stairs and people talking while passing but this stopped by midnight. The bathrooms were always spotless and very nice hot showers (just need to leave the water running for a while, hot is turn left!) the kitchen was always tidy. Good amount of utensils. Huge panty. Plenty of fridge space. Friendly guests. My room only had two plug sockets quite close to the ground, so I bought an extension from target 2 min walk away. 3 washing machines and 3 dryers on level 1 and level 3. Great cafe downstairs. (Dandy Lane) Also many other great restaurants and cafes nearby. Night entrance is well signposted, it’s well lit and the door auto closes. Would be good if the heaters were replaced with oil radiators as less noisy and heat is steady.
