Last second booking turned into a really nice stay. Old-building character with all the modern amenities. The host was more than gracious. 100% recommend.
We stayed in the Convict Cottage for 4 nights. It had everything we needed. It was full of character and history.

Lovely colonial house. Clean rooms with everything you need including free washing facilities and car parking. To top it all was a lovely hostess, very friendly and helpful. 15 minutes walk to the centre but very good restaurants nearby.
No laundry facilities that we know of. Code for entry was great, because you felt safe. Very close walking distance to cafes restaurants, which was a high plus. Just a bit of traffic noise, which died down during the night.
Convenient location, good parking for the area. Lots of meal options nearby. Water pressure in shower could be better, but it’s an old building so I understand.

Convict Cottage is superb with plenty of air space and a private terrace with direct view to the top of Mount Wellington. Quiet, no noise from the street. Good service.
The Lodge staff are the standout feature of the place: friendly, accomodating and super helpful. We enjoyed our stay in the Cottage over a spring weekend a great deal. The room itself is a cosy self contained little unit perfect for a couple. Walking distance to great food and entertainment venues. Highly recommend
I had a great stay here! Jake provided me with lots of helpful information, and when I had to change my booking he was very understanding and professional about it. It's a short walk from all the places I needed to be in Hobart and the room was very comfy. Would definitely stay again!
Fantastic stay at this beautiful accommodation. Quaint, unique, clean, convenient, homely and very spacious. Such character! We’ll be back! Thank you Therese and Jake!
Good convenient location and good room, ideal parking for my motorcycle

Liked: Amenities
The room and building are old, but still OK if you just need good rest near the North Hobart or Hobart CBD. The TV is too small and has not much entertainment value. Amenities are reasonable.
The biggest selling point for choosing this hotel is getting access to free laundry machine for guests and the clothing drying line on the building balcony. Area around hotel has many reasonably good food choices and the main Catholic cathedral is within walking distance.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Older two-level style cottage, good layout but the bathroom is in dire need of improvements and renovations. The shower head sprays water all over the place. Well-stocked kitchen. Very comfortable bed. Mostly quiet at night. It is a walkable stroll to the harbour and most public transport.
Thanks for a great stay. Had one of the best sleeps during my travels - the bed was very comfortable. And the complementary port was a nice touch - we do enjoy a nice port.
The service, comfort, charm, kindness and value of this accommodation was outstanding. Easy walk to all the places. Beautiful, friendly, quiet and quaint. Thank you so much! I'll be returning for sure.

Lovely room and convict built hotel. Arrived around 10:00PM. GLAD we had internet access to get directions to get entry keys and directions to our room
Place could use a little TLC. Very convenient to local restaurants and wharf
