Beautiful spot with great views on either side. We enjoyed watching the sheep grazing below our window and a fabulous dinner at the restaurant. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable and I had a very good night sleep.

Staff was super nice and helpful, rooms were comfortable and clean. We got unlucky with our stay, we got to breakfast early a nice buffet with a handful of options, but the power cut. That not only meant breakfast was cold but that showers were ICEY. They worked quickly to get things back but we unfortunately did not get to enjoy a warm morning. Beautiful property. We would stay again and hopefully be luckier

This was a very homey feeling hotel with a large room. It’s all by itself in the country and had very good dinner choices with menu items right from the farm. It is a long way from anywhere so it was good to have a nice breakfast included. It was about 15-20 minutes from the diamond beach. If the northern lights are out this would be a great to view them.

Very very helpful staff. The gentleman at the reception also helped us carry our heavy luggage to the rooms. The breakfast spread was incredible. Never seen anything like this anywhere in Iceland, lot of local and continental delicacies. The room was also great, very spacious. Would love to be back.

Clean, well appointed, and appealing room. Our room was large as compared to other rooms we have gotten in Iceland for a similar price. Staff were consistently pleasant and helpful. We ate dinner our first night there and breakfast the next day and both meals were very good. While still not cheap, by Iceland standards we got well prepared meals at dinner. The breakfast buffet the next day was memorable for many homemade items, including wonderful breads and cakes of various types. Overall, we would recommend Hotel Smyrlabjorg confidently to other travelers with no hesitation whatsoever.

Cozy hotel with nice seating areas. In a picturesque area as well. Outdated like most Iceland hotels are but that’s what also gives it some charm. Affordable and breakfast was great.
