"Our trip to the Big Island was a last minute switch from Kauai due to storms. It was our first time on Hawaii Island, and we hadn't done any research in advance. The Mauna Lani turned out to be a perfect basecamp from which to explore the island's volcanos, beaches, oceans, tidepools, and history. It was luxurious without being fussy. The staff were almost without exception were warm and helpful. Our room had a beachfront view that was gorgeous, and a large lanai from which to enjoy it. I'm not sure if it was because the hotel was not at full capacity, but our room was very quiet, and our every need was met instantly upon request. We had so much fun!"

"This property was the favorite lodging of the trip. Amazingly, it was not full. It is within 100 yards of Hawi’s main attraction, Kohala Zipline. The main building forms a square around a lawn-dominated garden: A vintage roadside motel combined with a cloister. Good dining choices are within a short walking or a slightly longer driving distance. Nearby sights/sites of interest include Pololu Beach and two churches in a New England style, both of which look great in the tropical setting."

"This was an amazing stay-cation!! From the beautiful property and the amazing rooms, the View, the rooms, the owners, the location, the entire stay was awesome!! Too short and I will definitely stay here again and again!! My family visiting from Montana, thought this place was just stunning and so did our local family!! Everything in the rooms and main house were fabulous!! Perfect location for going into Hilo town and definitely will look into a longer trip!! Thank you so much!! "Absolutely stunning location, the home was beautiful inside with gorgeous verandahs overlooking the ocean up to the Waipi’o valley.We had a few electrical issues after a recent storm but they will be sorted out. We wanted to stay longer."

"Our stay was spectacular! This home was everything we could have dreamed plus some! The view was heavily, flowers were absolutely beautiful and the view of Waipio Valley was by far the most stunning view, right off our back porch! Our house manager Camile was truly a gem! She made our stay truly amazing! We will definitely be booking this home again in the future! I highly recommend this rental to anyone interested, you will not regret!"

"We loved our second stay in this house. The view is one-of-a-kind, and the house is such a beautiful gem. We love the coquis at night, the stars and enjoying the humid air of Hawaii. Honoka’a is a nice town, and the Waipi’o Fruit Shack is right down the road. You’ll probably be visiting Waimea (30 minutes) or across the island to Mauna Lani, etc. (1 ro 1.25 hours), but the longer drive is still worth it for staying in such a lovely house. You’ll have a wonderful experience!"
