"This is a resort out where you wouldn't expect to find one. Beautiful pool and tropical setting. Bar and restaurant are in a building separate of the rooms. Everyone on staff was nice and helpful. They have 2 bedroom apartments. Some for families and others for groups without children. The family units are on the first floor and face the streets and are more utilitarian (easier to clean and less to break or mess up). The ones on the second floor are nicer. Cooktown is small but interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would have stayed much longer if we'd had the chance. As expected, this place does have some unique quirks but it's in the tropics and it's humid, so expect the heat and moisture to take a toll on things. If you let them know there's a problem with your room they'll do their best to adress it. This place is a lot like a small Worldmark or Wyndham property."
"Although there was an issue with the electronic door lock, our host Karen went over and above to get us settled in. The cottage is tastefully decorated, has all mod cons, super comfy bed and is spotlessly clean, very centrally located and easy to find.Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Cooktown."
"Red Door Cottage was great for our family's 4 day stay in Cooktown.A peaceful place to stay, basic, yet spacious comfortable home. The host's clear instructions made the check-in "
