We stayed here for 1 night. We reached a bit after dark and it was our first night in Iceland. The guy at the reception did not understand much English. It was very dark as there is no light pollution. It would have been helpful if he had come with us to show the room, as we had to cross a little bridge after parking our car and we were fumbling in the dark. It is not far from the parking, or the main building, but he just gave us the keys and pointed outside, rather than just take the 5...

I had a wonderful, and far too brief, stay here! The location is off the beaten path, but the views are fantastic. Had the weather cooperated, it would be perfect for Northern Lights! Place was adorable, and had every convenience in the room (including additional charging cables and conversion plugs). Communication was perfect and the food was excellent! I ended up being the only traveller during my stay and the owner was so accommodating...she even offered for me to stay extra as needed due to...

Just wanted to say the staff here made our trip memorable. The breakfast was fantastic. Prior to arriving I let the staff know we would be arriving early due to a early flight and needed to freshen up due to me proposing. They made the accommodation. I asked while we were at dinner if they could do something special in the room and they did. The host at the restaurant was very suave with letting me know that everything in the room was ready. I’ve stayed here three times over the past 10 years. Most recently in October 2026. The property is very well maintained and looks the same as it did 10 years ago. If I am going to West Iceland I always stay at the Fossatun hotel. It’s also a great place to see the aurora.

A wonderful property. It's not a hotel, so if you're expecting something luxurious, this isn't it! The location is great, and the owners have developed cute walking trails about troll-related folklore. There's a shared kitchen available, and the bathrooms are in a building less than a minute walk from the pods. It's northern Europe, so the showers are communal. Natural hot tubs are open in the evening, and there's a decent (and relatively cheap!) restaurant on site with a sunroom for taking...

We stayed for only one night, but this is one of our favorite hotels. First of all, we are family of 5 and stayed in the family room. It is more than enough to accommodate six people comfortably. The hotel is also extremely well maintained and very clean. It is directly across the street from a grocery store. Also the buffet breakfast was by far the nicest one we’ve had as we’ve driven the ring around Iceland. I could not recommend this hotel enough if you’re looking to spend a couple of days in...

Our stay at the Hilltop House at Hvammsvík Nature Resort was, quite simply, beyond words fantastic.
From the moment we followed the dirt road up the hill, we knew we had found someplace very special. Perched above the surrounding landscape, the house offers extraordinary, nearly 360-degree views of the mountains, water, sky and beautiful Icelandic countryside. It feels wonderfully private and peaceful.
