"The room and breakfast were perfectly adequate for myself and friend who were doing the Borders Abbeys Way walk. Unfortunately, we stayed on one of the nights when an evening meal was not available. Despite being given various options it was impossible, at short notice, to book into anywhere else that offered a meal in Selkirk. "The bed was comfortable and clean. Nice decor. Chairs were not comfortable, too low. Nobody on the premises during the night. No emergency phone numbers supplied. Very little in the way of literature about the area. Security of residents’ rooms was questionable. Members of the public had access to the stairs near the front door to the bar."

"Great location, clean and comfortable room, but only after booking room did I find out that the hotel is not staffed and I would have to call to get an entry code, which required borrowing a bartender's phone to make the call, since I didn't have phone service in Scotland. All this happened very late in the day on a Sunday, where a missed call could have meant nowhere to stay in a small town. They need to change the procedure or give fair warning through Expedia before booking."

"A lovely place to stay in the beautiful Scottish Borders. I was made very welcome and the two hosts went out of their way to help - offering advice on places to eat and willingly providing an early breakfast on the Sunday morning. Breakfast was excellent with all locally sourced fresh ingredients. Room was very comfortable, really clean and quiet. Would highly recommend Bellevue."

"The room was spotless and you could tell a lot of thought had been put into it from the lovely selection of toiletries to the extras provided like ear plugs and make up remover towels. The breakfasts were lovely and the hosts were very friendly enquiring about our day and future plans. All in all a lovely stay"
