The room (Room 1 ) was clean but when you look outside through the window you can see the mess outside like dry leaves and woods scattered on the ground. It would be nice if your view from the window is a well maintained and manicured garden.

This is not a 2 star accommodation. The first impressions were not good as property was a mess, there was no one to greet us and once we did get in the room, the carpet was dirty, furniture old , smelly and dirty and toilet not working well. Wi fi did not work either. The lock was flimsy. We would not recommend.

Once you got past the stench of mold in the entry way, and got into your room you found the left over week old newspaper that was missed when the room was cleaned and the broken window in the bathroom. It's an older quaint building, so a bit louder than normal, but it also hasn't seen the level of maintenance you would expect - beyond the smell of mold and broken window, 2 drywall seams were also open floor to ceiling. On the positive side, Sam from the front desk was helpful after you explained the issues, explaining how to turn on the heat and he fixed the internet after the first night. Overall, we will not be returning to the 3 Pines Lodge.

Overall, our stay was not very satisfactory. The bathroom facilities need some improvement. The toilet paper holder was broken and could not properly hold the toilet paper, which was quite inconvenient. The air quality in the room was also not very good, and the room felt stuffy. In addition, the room did not have a microwave or a kettle, which would have been very useful for guests. The check-in process was also quite slow, and we had to wait for a long time before we could get our room. I hope the hotel can improve these facilities and make the check-in process more efficient for future guests.

They advertised one price and charged another when i arrived. Another lady checking out said she bought at the same price I did and was charged a different price then me but less ,when we plugged in to charge our devices the electricity went out. Three times so we couldn't do anything. We waited a half hour until a man came to check us in. A phone number is posted to call but no one answers The place was not overly clean. There was no desk staff and you couldn’t use the air or the lights would go out

First impression was poor. The garbage container outside the entrance door was filled to the brim and overflowing. The outside patio table was dirty, beer bottles left on the table and an overflowing ashtray. There was also garbage throughout the parking lot. The yard was unkempt. The firepit was filled with debris, In my opinion these issues could be addressed and kept tidy at all times with routine cleaning. The desk staff was cheerful, informative and helpful, offering to help us carry our luggage up the stairs. Our accommodations were good, large, bright room, room and washroom clean, bed comfortable. A suggestion, clean windows, fix cracked window. The room could use fresh paint and new carpet or better still no carpeting. Our server was cheerful and she was helpful. A delightful person! We wish her the best as she completes her studies in North Bay. We both decided to have chicken wings and onion rings. They were delicious ! Kudos yo the cook. We were looking forward to a cup of coffee in the morning. There are no coffee machines in the room however they do have one at the entrance. The problem was it didn't work properly. I only managed to get one cup of coffee when I needed two. 3 Pines Lodge is a Gem in the Rough, hidden away in Port Sydney. All it needs is some tender loving care with the outside property and freshening of the rooms. I would recommend 3 Pines Lodge to my friends but give them the issues I saw with the property and room.

We have been to this property a couple of times but this will be our last. We waited at check-in for someone to help after texting as per the welcome desk instructions. There are no amenities available (coffee maker, breakfast). Parking was a struggle with us having to park off site. The TV in the sitting room of our suite was broken, which was not a hugh issue but was an inconvenience. The bathroom was gross with mold on the shower curtain, a broken toilet paperholder and bugs around the shower. The motel smelled like mildew and the outside was unkempt. Not worth the money.

It property has potential. But amenities are lacking slightly ( no coffee) The. Yard area could use some tidying . However the rooms are generally clean and the property is pleasant with potential to be great. The restaurant is quite nice and the staff friendly. I would stay again. The spot is nice .

This place gets one star for just existing. The bed sheets were dirty, floor was incredibly dirty. The shower had no pressure, the toilet was broken as in it wouldn't flush without taking the back off. Windows were broken and bugs were all over. No amenities in the room. Would never staying here again

Aside from the decent water pressure there was not one thing I could say that was nice about this place, we were expecting rustic, not gross. There were no amenities: No ice bucket, no glasses, no shampoo, no extra towels or toilet paper no deadbolt, no screen on the screen door. The internet did not work. There was half a bottle of watered down hand soap in the bathroom and not much else. There as an emergency exit plan that we almost used when an earwig climbed up on the bed.

I honestly can’t think of a single element of our stay that was remotely ok. So I’ll resort to bullet points of why you should never stay here (I never complain in reviews) - No staff anywhere. Had to text a number that wasn’t responded to…until I noticed a tiny hand written note on a piece of paper to text another number to check in - Loud/rowdy “restaurant” …filled with drunk yelling and howling - Burger tasted awful - Our table was wiped down with damp rag on to my wife’s lap - General layout is cold and completely uninviting - Green miniput carpeting through halls to rooms - Rooms have home-style knob locks that never actually locked (we tested it) - Open-door party full of drunks from check-in to early morning hours - The room: smelled awful, dirty carpet, literal hair chunks in bathroom, damp used towel hanging inside shower. Cable would work for 10 seconds every minute. Bed pillows were tiny like they were meant for couch. Dead bugs in every light fixture, mold throughout, cracked ceiling, deck looked unstable (2nd floor) and littered with beer cans and busted party balloons. No safe. Room glowed green at need due to the LED on in-room separate dehumidifier. Morning…Sunday morning…we got the heck out of there as soon as we could..dropped our room key in the bucket …9am…no one in restaurant and all chairs up. No idea how this “hotel” could achieve 2.5 stars…no idea how it could cost $250 for one night…and no idea how Expedia could back this place.

We had stayed here years ago under previous owners and it was pleasant. The property has just gone terribly downhill under new owners and was an uncomfortable stay. The place was unkempt, dark and dingy - outside was garbage strewn, the lobby dark and dirty, most of the time there was no staff on duty. Gardens just left to weeds making it a warning before we even entered the place. The room (called a suite) was spartan, desk with no chair, no lamp on one bedside, dirty walls, just rundown facility. Bed ok but pillows not. Some mobile air conditioner hose shoved through a window but at least it worked. Hall carpets so dirty - had not been cleaned or replaced for a long time. Bathroom (shower only) was clean except for cobwebs over the light fixture and the fan which was full of dirt in the vents. Just a very disappointing experience. Would never stay here again or recommend.

Expedia needs to delist this property! The room was bad. A frayed power cord was running all through the room to run an air conditioner that barely worked. There were cobwebs in the room. Questioning if the bathroom was cleaned, the bar soap from a previous guest was in the shower and all the tiles were loose. On the patio, there were beer cans from previous guests. Guest services were had to call for service. For the price of this place extremely disappointed. Could be a lovely place with updates

If you want a cheap stay, with a "lodge" atmosphere this is the place for you. If you want a clean room and cordial service, consider elsewhere. My room was lacking maintenance, furniture was well worn, and clearly had not been dusted in quite some time. Given this, I didn't trust the sheets had actually been changed so I slept in my sleeping bag. Since there was only one person working there, "security" was lacking. All doors to the lobby were open (unlocked and literally open) and there was no deadbolt on my room door, just a lock on the handle. But it sufficed for my needs to pay little and have a decent sleep.

The location in Port Sydney great it was a 10 min walk to the beach. We had the Port Sydney Suite, the room and bathroom were large and recently renovated. The air conditioner was cold and there was also a fan. The bed was soft, clean and comfortable. It was a Friday night open mic entertainment with lots of locals attending. The restaurant was busy and the food was great, we had haddock, fresh cut fries, wings and quesadilla. The downside was the outdoor maintenance could be better and a morning coffee station in the lounge would be nice since there is no breakfast at the restaurant.

Willing to accommodate pets which is great. First time travelling with my dog and they gave me a main floor room for easy access to walk my dog without a request. Which was appreciated. There is a flight of stairs to reach the main level due to the lodge being built on top of a hill. For those with mobility issues and dogs and may not be ideal.
