We had a beautiful time at Cananvalle. The staff are very attentive and friendly. It is a place quite a bit outside Ibarra and without transport you have to rely on taxis to get around. Saying that the local taxis are cheap and safe.

Google maps is off, by a bit. Strongly recommend double checking your reservation as they never received ours via Expedia. Property is very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed dinner (from town) and wine on our front patio in the early evening. Staff is very helpful. Highly recommend for a quiet retreat. Be sure to walk the entire property to fully appreciate this place!

Hermoso y silencioso espacio para descansar y encontrarse con el campo muy cerca a Ibarra. Atendido directamente por sus propietarios quienes resuelven cualquier requerimiento de forma ágil y gentil. Desayuno variado con café y frutas cosechados en la misma hacienda.

Definitely one of the most beautiful places to stay in Ibarra. It is located in the countryside, just 5 min drive from downtown Ibarra, with unique views. Doreen and Carlos are excellent hosts and gave us lots of tips for travelling around. Breakfast is delicious, everything is fresh and organic from their own gardens. HIghly recommended for travellers who wish to experience the real Ecuador.

Mi esposo y yo pudimos descansar deliciosamente y nos aceptaron con nuestra mascota quien disfruto muchisimo tambien.. las caminatas en la propiedad podrian ser incentivadas con cosecha de los arboles frutales. un paisaje lindo podrian mejorar los servicios turisticos ofreciendo el tren , sugiriendo visitas a los alrededores, o teniendo detalles en la habitación (como el cedrón que tienen tambien) la cama super comoda... recomendado para descansar de la ciudad...

Breakfast with hummingbirds

Bird watching during breakfast, specially hummingbirds, is a treat. Also I really liked the convenience of being able to have a good dinner at the hotel. Food was well prepared.

I personally dislike cold places, we stayed first on Hosteria Estelita, and although it has a nice view I could not sleep because place is on the mountain and is super cold, but Hysteria Canavalle is located in a place with a great temperature

Two nights in paradise

Hvis du er i Ecuador, og har mulighet til å dra hit; dra hit! Jeg reiste alene, og ville vekk fra Quitos støy. På Hosteria Cananvalle blir du tatt usedvanlig godt i mot av Carlos. Du blir vekket av hanen som galer, får den deiligste frokost, og fred til å vandre rundt og se på alle de fantastiske plantene Carlos har plantet på eiendommen i løpet av de siste 25 årene. Du kan også gå deg en "lengre tur" på eiendommen og hilse på alpakkaene(lamaene?) og hestene, og se på det jungelaktige elveområdet og turisttoget som passerer en gang i timen. Hvis du er alene på hosteriaen, eller bare er så heldig å få sjansen til å ha en lengre samtale med Carlos, vil du få høre de mest spennende historiene du noen gang har hørt. Ikke bli overrasket om han foreslår at dere skal dra ut og spise om det er få gjester på hotellet. Det er tydeligvis helt normalt:) Jeg overnattet to netter på hosteriaen, og kommer aldri til å glemme det. En fantastisk eiendom, et fantastisk rom, og en fantastisk hotelleier!
