"The website said water park would be open May 8 and still wasn’t open on May 9 wasted my money for my kids birthday and didn’t even get to swim. What a dirty place "

"Well apparently the owners do not live on the property but come there quite frequently to do work on the rooms. As far as the state itself the room was comfortable enough the AC got good and cold it did have a microwave and refrigerator"

"Our family had a great time at Starved Rock! A few things about the house were disappointing. Grass not cut so house looks rundown on the outside. Bunnies running around in the yard too!! You have ants in kitchen and birds in the eaves at top which we could hear during the night flying in and out. Birds nests also under the deck. Outside areas not well kept. Not enough towels for each guest... and 2 were spotted with dirt. After trying to reach owners about getting more towels I ended up washing the dirty towels and using my beach towel for my guests. The lock for the closet in the bathroom did not work with combination given!! Very frustrating! "

"My number one complaint would definitely be the large cockroaches that infested this home. Other than that, parking is good during the day but bad at night due the restaurants and bars nearby. The bars were also very loud at night so be prepared for that. The kitchen and finer details of the home could use work. Hard to find bath towels, half the light bulbs didn’t work, a nail sticking out of the floor in the living room, just little inconveniences that we dealt with. The host was kind and responsive. The outlook over the river was nice. "
