About 40 minutes north through the long pine tree woods, we stumbled upon Stalag Luft 3, the original prisoner of war camp where the Great Escape occurred. "This was a fantastic place for a vacation in Poland. The building was built in 1785 (?) and was a unique place to stay. The rooms were huge and we were very comfortable. The pool was nice, and it seems as though there were private swimming lessons going on at the pool as well. Overall, we had a great time."
