Giant Redwoods at Inchture These are some of the first Redwoods to be planted in Scotland. The mammoth trees were grown from seed sent to local visionary Patrick Matthew, by his gold panning sons, in 1853.
Baledgarno village. Baledgarno only dates from the early 19th century when it was built, around 1807, by the 8th Lord Kinnaird, instead of gradually developing, like a normal village.
Inchture Redwoods A well know fruit grower and arboricultural enthusiast, Matthew gifted saplings to friends and neighbours throughout the Carse and many of the original trees can be found throughout the area.
