Checking into the property was a bit strange. As we arrived I hadn’t received any information regarding check in so was a bit confusing. Some of the appliances were a bit awkward to work. Location and accessibility to the surrounding area was perfect and was really pleased with everything in that regard. Not a bad stay, could just be improved a bit.
Perfect overnight spot for Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival
The bed wasn't great and the place had no A/C, so in the summer I wouldn't want to stay for more than a night, but the grounds were lovely with a cute little waterfall right outside the front door. Check-in was a breeze (no idea why other reviewers complained about that). Room was warm overnight, even with the patio door open, but the grounds were very quiet so sleeping with the patio door open wasn't a problem. And we really enjoyed eating breakfast on the mini patio, while we watched a Steller's Jay preen on a nearby branch. Whole place was spotless. Kitchen was a bonus for the same price as a hotel room. We didn't cook, but we did use the sink, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and toaster. All worked well. It's no frills for sure: no K-cups, no ice maker, basic linens, and hot tub is TINY (and only open from 9-9). But for a simple overnight stay, I would definitely choose to stay here again over other similarly priced options in the area. Fabulous value for the location, with lots of tasty nearby food options/ATM/Raley's. (Jiffy's pizza was fast and yummy!)

so-so
Sofa bed is terribly uncomfortable. Don't plan on using it.
The kitchen is not well supplied at all - low quality and meager - knives are bent and dull. Very few utensils, pots and pans, and dishes.
9 am checkout time is very early - tried to organize a 10 or 11 am checkout but it was not negotiable.

Nice enough for a weekend
Only thing that really surprised me was that the hot tub is definitely unit only - it's for the whole complex - and the check in process was truly not fun. Took about an hour to check in. It was clean, and otherwise as described, and allowed us to see Tahoe. I wouldn't be back, but it was ok for the weekend.

Brrrrr....
I waited a few days after my stay to write this just to have a few days to think about it.
Check in was fine, the room was very clean, bed comfortable, there isn't really a place to sit, unless you want to sit on the bed or a high stool, but all in all a nice place.
Where I depart and what dictates the rating is that the thermostat and heater did not work. I called twice about it, but did not speak with anyone after my call or had a note/message left to let me know that someone had been in the room to fix it. They did have a space heater, tucked away in a corner that I guess they wanted me to use. The problem with space heaters is that they don't heat the entire space. The bathroom was frigid for example, although the room was adequately warm after a while. The first night I had to use the oven, with the door open to rapidly heat the room!
I guess if you like a space heater sitting in the middle of your room all the time and a cold bathroom as well as no messages about the issue.... this is the place for you!
