Highly recommend this hotel. The location is fantastic next to the train station and centrally located to shops and restaurants.
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful!
High tea was a travellers delight!
Fun to stay in such a historic building!
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Inverness! 🏰✨ The central location is perfect for exploring the city, and the historic building has so much character—it almost feels like being transported back in time. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the service was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. A wonderful place to stay while visiting Inverness! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lovely lobby and grand staircase right next door to train station. Our room looked out onto platform 2. Hotel is a gracious older dame. Spacious. Comfortable but showing signs of age. Worked well for us as we enjoy heritage properties. Particularly when the train station entrance is immediately beside the hotel door and public transport stops.
This hotel was conveniently located near the center of town and everything you may wish to see in Inverness is just a few minute walk. There is minimal parking at the hotel, but the multi level city park is an easy 6 minute walk, even with roller bags. We would recommend staying there and if we come back, it will be our location of choice.
Close to train station, parking out front if you are lucky to get a spot. If unable to get a parking spot out front, I parked around the corner and it was only a short walk.
Large room allowed for plenty of storage for luggage, it was nice and warm for our 2 night stay. Staff were helpful at reception regarding directions and nearby amenities. Laundry was 4 minutes away so easy to do. Hotel is close to Victorian markets and walkable to the loch. Overall enjoyed my stay here
A brief one night stay in between taking the sleeper - room was large and beds were comfortable. Ideally situated in the centre of Inverness we were able to get about easily. Did not have breakfast but did use the bar - service was friendly and prompt. Use of the luggage room was also handy as we took a tour out to Loch Ness in the rain. Hotel did provide umbrellas!
Great location close to bus station. Luggage storage prior to check-in and post check-out was a breeze. Old hotel with some quirks and lots of character.
We could stay in a huge twin room with kings bed each of us, which was bonus.
The room was pleasant and we had a comfirtable stay, thank you.
The location was just next to the station which was also very convenient.

Hotel is really showing it's age. Windows were roting and broken, so little fresh air. Bedding was old and tired. Old plumbing. Slow single lift shared with cleaning staff. However, great location right outside the train station.

Staff were helpful, room was nice…parking was difficult.
Absolutely lovely hotel to stay in in Inverness. The staircase is really beautiful and the room we stayed in was a good size and really clean. Breakfast in the morning was a continental which had plenty to chose from and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Most the the staff on reception were really helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help you if they could. Very convenient for the train and bus station and walking into the city centre itself. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable beds. Hotel a bit tired and not welcoming
The hotel is old which is the great charm with it. The old look and charm makes the stay something to remember. The location is perfect as it is in the centre of Inverness.
We really enjoyed our stay this weekend at The Royal Highland. Rooms are comfy, clean & well equipped. Staff are polite & helpful. We’d stay here again.
Check in was quick, front desk staff were nice, shower was great! Location is very convenient. My room was on the 2nd floor and I heard a fair amount of street noise at night and in the morning with the window open. I’d stay there again for location and the large room size, which is hard to find.
We had a lovely stay here, it is very much a hotel that does not feel modern, but is sort of refreshing in that way. A/C seems to be very uncommon in hotels in this area, but of the places we stayed in Northern Scotland this had absolutely the best/strongest fan. The room was large and comfortable, although the mattress might ultimately feel a bit thin if you are on the heavier side. The best thing about this hotel, in my opinion, is the proximity to the Inverness ScotRail station, upon which the hotel sits directly next to. It makes it a very easy jumping off point for any number of day trips, and is of course also centrally located to Inverness' city-center as well.
