"This was one of 3 places we stayed on our first trip to Maine and was by far the best of the bunch. It was clean, felt safe, good value, within walking distance to town. Breakfast was continental but decent, coffee was good. Best part was that the lobby was stocked with water, juice, coffee, and good packaged snacks. It helped so much stave off hunger because it took a bit of time for four people to shower and dress after spending the day having fun."

"Great place! It is in a much smaller town but not too far from Bar Harbor. Perfect for a couple or small family if you want to stay away from the noise that Bar Harbor is known for. The restaurants close earlier than in Bar Harbor. It was perfect for us!"

"We could hear the loons on Echo Lake! So this was a plus! We loved sitting on the back patio to look at the lake! This was a great place from which we could explore all of Mount Desert Island. We don't like crowds so much, so did not go into Bar Harbor too much, but loved the proximity to Southwest Harbor and is on offer there. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, the house was clean. Having a washer and dryer on premises was a plus. We were not wanting at all. The little IGA store just a few minutes away was sufficient for all our grocery needs. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We loved Common Good in Southwest Harbor that has live music (including a 25 piece ukulele band on Sundays) and free popovers! Pets are welcome!"

"Kimberly's house was just as advertised. It's an adorable old farmhouse with character. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked: plenty of utensils and dishware, coffee and filters, and she placed crackers and cheese, local blueberry and root beer sodas and a bottle of wine in the refrigerator! Plenty of towels, too, which my wife always likes. Yes, the place can get loud with the road noise, but we closed the bedroom windows at bedtime which made a huge difference. The provided fans and open windows in the kitchen kept the place cool overnight for sleeping."

"We were very grateful for our nice place in Northeast Harbor! Our goal in choosing this particular place was to have ready access to Acadia without the touristy energy of Bar Harbor, and that worked out perfectly! The location of the unit was on the Main Street of Northeast Harbor above a small restaurant, and we were aware of that and it posed no issues at all. The unit was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and though the space was small, it suited our purposes (we were out and about all day). I actually think Northeast Harbor provides better access to the National Park than staying in Bar Harbor. Northeast Harbor was very relaxed, and so it was a bit of a shock to get into the park and be faced with unrelenting crowds! It was so nice to return to the quiet little town after all that!"

"The apartment was great for what we needed! Only downside was that due to being directly under the roof in the second floor of an older building, it was quite hot during the daytime (the AC units are only in the bedrooms). Regardless it was a great little place!"
