"We had a pleasant stay overall, especially considering the price. The room was clean, spacious, and included a large kitchenette, and the pool was clean and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit.
That said, the resort itself appears to be in need of significant maintenance. There were visible cracks, humidity damage, overgrown landscaping, exposed air-conditioning units, and a general feeling that upkeep has been deferred for some time. One of the restaurants had...
"Gringos, stay away! Both the hotel and restaurant staff seemed annoyed with our limited Spanish. We had to request service from the restaurant staff the whole time. The rooms are incredibly overpriced for the quality. We had toilet issues and no water pressure or hot water. They charged for everything, including the use of pillows. Worst hotel we stayed at while traveling in Guatemala!"
