"My wife and I stayed nine nights in August, and really enjoyed this property. It is cozy as advertised, newly renovated, and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning was put to good use during the heat wave that swept through during our visit. Check in and check out were smooth, and the hosts were easy to communicate with. "We had a wonderful stay in Montignac-Charente. The apartment is a short walk to the town center and we enjoyed stopping in at the patisserie and the cafe. A full grocery store is a short drive away. Our dogs also loved long walks along the country roads beside fields filled with sunflowers. Our host met us when we arrived, kindly showed us how everything worked, and even gifted us some apple preserves that tasted fabulous on our morning croissants. There was more than enough room for the 4 of us...

"Fabulous location and just next door was a wonderful restaurant, le Francois, but they were so under-staffed, the waiters literally ran through the restaurant to serve the people on the little deck in front of it and sitting out under the lights in the center of a square. The parking garage was tiny and intense. We felt certain that we must have gone into the wrong one. It was like someone's personal basement. We were deliberating on what to do and the nice young man at the front desk saw us and showed us where to park. It was a little disconcerting for him to tell us that he goes off duty at 7, so we needed to remember the code to get back in, but it worked. Our room was completely pink - walls and doors. Our room was over the next door restaurant so we heard kitchen noise, but it wasn't bad. There was no A/C and the day had gotten a little warm, so we wanted to suck in as much cool air as we could before we closed the window."
