Golden Nugget

8/10 Good

"The bathroom shower with tub was unsafe. The glass door would go in or out with the door only filling three quarters of the shower. You had to step up to get in and out. There was no bars to hold on to get in or out. There was nothing on the tub floor to keep you from slipping. You could see from the shower out the sliding door from the bathroom into the living space, meaning anyone in the living space could see you in the shower. The one guest had a horrible time in the shower: feeling unsafe, feeling looked at, feeling she was going to slip at any time with nothing to grab. The towels were hard and didn't smell fresh. On the good side: the shower head had amazing water pressure, which you rarely get in a hotel. The vanity and shelves were great to store our items."

"Its a hotel everything in the room was great including the view outside to the boardwalk , that was great, but why does the hotel doors look like there from the 80's I'm sure it will cost a lot to replace them, but walking down the long halls felt like i was back in time until i went into the room. that was really my only complaint. Maybe i was on the bad side.?"

"We found the room very convenient, comfortable and to our liking. The pool was great and the service at the beach was well-managed, easy and friendly. We used the laundry service to our satisfaction although it was a little challenging to figure out. My only disappointment, and this will not apply to most people, is that there was amplified live music during dinner time, from 6 to 9 every evening, and we would have liked to eat and hang out on our balcony facing the pool. Unfortunately the music was quite loud, and impossible to ignore. Because of it we had to stay indoors or go out during those hours. I realize I am difficult on this matter, because most people like pop music or can tune it out, As a professional musician that is not the case for me. Other than that we had a fabulous time in Cape May and at La Mer, truly a class act. The weather cooperated and the beach was wonderful. I will definitely stay again at La Mer."
