A basic older property with 70s decor. Not bad, just basic. Nice Friendly staff. Nice cable tv options. Be careful, the door handle is sooo close to the door frame, twice it pinched my hand closing the door; the second time it riped my skin and drew much blood.

Very clean! Great location just around the corner from the Main Street through town. Exceptionally welcoming staff smiled from dusk to dawn. They were happy to work there and happy to serve.

The place has great water pressure, but the room I was in this time had a clogged up shower head that would not work on the best setting. The blinds let a lot of light in the room from the parking lot. I kept thinking it was morning, even at midnight, because of all the light. It is in a good location.

There wasn't any AC, but it's all good. Opening the window at night was enough. Super easy walk to the outpost for any food you'd want. Bed wasn't super comfy, but was probably still a better deal than the surroundings inns.

John Day sits about 80 miles from the nearest city of any size. It has limited overnight choices. The Best Western, while nice, costs the same as the Best Western at Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris. This is John Day, folks. Dreamers Lodge, while not the newest or fanciest motel, is very nice, clean, safe, easily located, walking distance to restaurants AND reasonably priced. This is our choice every time.
