Hotel 1770 & Spa served as our home base during the week we spent visiting Avignon, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Pont du Gard, Arles, and Nimes. Rooms: Clean, spacious and quaint with a lot of character. Junior suite was spacious with a sitting area, an outdoor patio, and a huge bathroom. Well equipped with a comfortable king bed, large screen TV and coffee maker. Country-style room made you feel as if you really were staying in the countryside. This hotel was the highlight of our Provence trip. The owner and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. They are generous on their servings. The location of the hotel is perfec for both local and for day trips. There’s a map on the wall with recommend place for those like us who do road trips. We stayed 3 nights and wanted to stay longer. We had a lovely stay at this charming little B&B in Avignon, run by a very kind and warm-hearted couple. Neither of the owners spoke fluent English, but we were able to communicate perfectly well using a translation app. I also did my best to practice my elementary French, which made the experience feel even more personal and memorable. Hotel is a little hard to find, but has a (short and safe) pathway to the center of the small village. Staff is very friendly and helpful - 5-star service, including getting ice for us, even though it is strange for the French to use so much ice. Rooms are small, but so are 90%of the hotel rooms in France. Absolutely a wonderful area to spend two days in.

Very nice little place with pool and restaurant that are wonderful. Rooms are comfy and just what was needed. My brother had an issue with his bed as the queen was actually two twin beds, that moved apart in the middle of the night. Property is very nice though wifi is very weak, so be prepared to disconnect.

This is one of the most wonderful and comfortable places I have ever stayed. The property is beautiful, the rooms are very large (even by US standards), the breakfast was fantastic, but the people were beyond all expectations. Henri, Veldi, Dominique, and Norwin (the folks who manage and run the place) are the most wonderful, welcoming, friendly and kind people you will meet as a traveler. Truly an exceptional visit. There are no downsides. Just fantastic.

A well-run small hotel located very near the Avignon historic landmarks. The operator is very dedicated to his business and provides bed and breakfast style personal attention and local advice. He is very English-speaker friendly.
