The rooms are a tad small for two people. The property is in need of a refresh. Trying to get the door unlocked with the keycard was a daily challenge. Location was great, just steps to shopping and dining. Be aware there is no A/C, which is probably fine most of the year, but the week we were there not so much.

The property was clean, but definitely has seen better days. It was nice to have Laundry facilities on site. Our room faced the back of the property and was definitely affected by road noise, dumpster lids slamming shut and neighborhood dogs barking.

The hotel provides excellent amenities for travellers; it is very comfortable, well located, the staff is very kind and always willing to help; the breakfast was good and the room was always clean, spacious and had everything one could need. The only detail is that the hotel seems a bit old, but that is a generality for the whole city and it does not affect the experience.

Location was central to downtown Juneau with dining & shopping options nearby. Our corner suite on the upper floor had a nice water view and was not too noisy. Bed was comfortable and living area quite spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Fitness center was small but functional.

We read the reviews and knew the hotel was dated but we were pleasantly surprised and pleased by the staff and accommodations. Breakfast buffet was good and filling. We even had AC in our room. Alaska is expensive. Juneau is expensive- everything has to be shipped in by plane or boat. The hotel is centrally located and convenient to downtown Juneau!

Older hotel, but right downtown. Walk to the tram, but it was broken down expected to be fixed in June. You can easily walk to bars, shops, and restaraunts. Many, many jewelry shops if you like that stuff. Suggest the M&M city tours for a two hour area tour and great narration!

First off, I love traveling to Alaska. The location of this hotel was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere. The only issue we had, no hot water, talk about a disaster. We got refunded for 2 of our 4 night stay. Because location was ideal, I would book again.

The Baranof is a lovely old hotel and we enjoyed our stay. It's very convenient to restaurants and shops, with an attached laundry that was clean and came in handy. They had staffing issues when we were there, so they were unable to offer dinner, but the buffet breakfast was good. Their heating system is very enthusiastic, and there were no in-room controls, so were were told to open the windows if we wanted the room cooler. This seems like an inefficient way to handle the problem, but that's what we did.
