"It was a great place to stay."

"Came to the hotel for a one night stay with our granddaughters (3 and 5) to do a quick trip to Bearizona and the Deer Farm before school started. Overall, the staff was friendly, The room was nice. Hotel was easy to find and the gift shops available were well stocked. The pool, which was previously closed for renovations, was open during our stay. The only item of note was the staff told us the pool was heated. It was not, but there was a large jacuzzi we could go back and forth between. The TV did have kids channels such as Nickelodeon and Disney Jr, which most hotels do not. I would warn against the Fred Harvey restaurant. I was excited because I love stories of Fred Harvey and the Harvey girls. I think he would not be happy about the quality of the restaurant. It was $80 for two adults and two children. It said there were 30 dishes on the dinner buffet, but I would say 22 of them were on the salad bar and included the dressings and toppings. The food was...edible, but did not make me want to return. I didn't want to go back to breakfast, but we thought it had to be better, which it was, but barely. The highlight was the cheesy potatoes which would give Cracker Barrel a run for its money. Save your money and try one of the high rated local restaurants. On the plus side, our granddaughters like seeing the train come around the restaurant."

"The entire property was pristine and our apartment was spotless. Check in was smooth and efficient. A concierge greeted us afterwards and provided an overview of amenities (gym, pool locations), a dinner recommendation based on our preferences (dine-in with a good wine list), and where to find the nearby cultural park. We found parking right outside our apartment door. The apartment itself is well appointed -- fully equipped kitchen, iron and ironing board, stacked washer dryer with washing soap. We appreciated the full size dining table. The showers offer shampoo, conditioner, body gel, and bar soap from Crabtree & Evelyn and bathtubs are ample and deep. Bedding and towels are appropriate and luxurious. The small patio was perfect for an evening chat and morning coffee. We did not use the fireplace since it was midsummer but it is a nice touch. We swam in the pool and visited the hot tub. The cool deck is slightly padded which feels nice under foot. Everything is spotless. There is a water fountain available to refill your water bottles and a vending machine. Towels were provided in our room and true beach towel sized. Soaking in a sunset at the cultural park was a highlight -- and only a short walk from our apartment. We will definitely return!"
