The hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a very interesting building. A very intimate venue and we enjoyed meeting the other guests. We had a great breakfast and opted to eat in the restaurant part of the dining and enjoyed a real local experience!!

Charming, small and different hotel

We had a very pleasant stay in this small and different hotel. The rooms are situated in two buildings, and ours was in a charming wooden house with historical flair and even an old tiled stove. The reception is in the charming little restaurant. And even though we almost were the only guests, they had made us a small breakfast buffet, with home made bread and really high quality products. We really felt at home in this simple but charming hotel.

The staff were life-savers! They are all so friendly. All speak English very well. Check in is different from an American chain so plan ahead to be in hotel restaurant by 20:00, or make easy arrangements. The room was so quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was so traditional. I loved it. I've missed Kalmar and it was good to make a visit back and stay at this lovely place.

Hilda is a perfect spot to return to

Hildas is very friendly and personal hotel, only a few minutes walk from Kalmars city center. We stayed there for two days during Ironman Kalmar. Their staf is very accomodating and solution oriented for all our requests and people we met have been staying there a few weeks at the time for like ages - the best way of expressing a review I belive.

The pictures do not do it justice. If you are from North America this will give you the ultimate cozy Scandinavian vibe. The lighting, candles even during breakfast, and room decor was such a welcome in the cold rainy days in October. It was bare bones with no conditioner, shampoo, hair dryer but still simple, cozy with warm people working there. The beautiful library is across the street and great to see. So quick and easy to the downtown centre. Centrally located. We loved our stay!!

Frukosten var god, erbjöd få, men väldigt bra alternativ och det räcker. Personalen var mycket vänliga, men stressade eftersom de också arbetar i restaurangen. Det centrala läget med gångavstånd till det mesta är ett stort plus. Men det var svårt att hitta parkering på gatan. Hotellrumet var snyggt och tyst, men lite för kallt. Jag blev besviken över att soffbord eller skrivbord saknades i rummet. Gardinerna hade lossnat uppe i taket efter att folk slitit i dem, utan att någon hängt tillbaks dem. Duschtvål saknades. De allmänna utrymmena kändes något slitna, men OK. Hotell Hilda är ett centralt beläget budgetalternativ med fokus på det allra mest viktiga.
