It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. A 1970’s hotel which has good sized clean rooms. Comfortable bed and good shower, reasonable WiFi. Helpful staff and good food. Very convenient position in central Kandy without being noisy at night. We didn’t use the pool but it looked well maintained. Good value for money.

Quite happy with my stay and will visit again.

Overall I'm quite happy with my stay. Minor problem with the hot water system but, special thanks to Razik, one of the staff who is very helpful and resolve the problem promptly. This hotel is located at a very convenient location in town with shops nearby where I can easily find convenient items. The beautiful lake of Kandy is just 5 minutes walk away. The only point I rated satisfactory is cleanliness because of the towels provided which didn't look very fresh although I'm sure they are clean.

部屋は清潔で問題なかったが、早朝と夜間にノックするのがニ晩連続であったので、女性一人旅だと不安になるかも。大声で「ワッツ？」と言えばいなくなるので事件にはならないでしょうけど。 朝食は分かっていたけどスリランカっぽさは皆無。炒め物の味付けがディルを使っててそこは良かった。

Siisti hotelli keskeisellä sijainnilla

Siisti, hieman historiaakin huokuva hotelli, ystävällinen palvelu. Ilmastointi toimi hyvin. Aamiainen oli ok. Keskeinen sijainti ml. juna-asemalle reilu 15 min. kävely tai tuktukilla 10 min. Tieto myöhäisestä uloskirjautumisesta ei kulkenut heillä sisäisesti, mutta asia saatiin selvitettyä nopeasti. Toinen pieni miinus usb-latausmahdollisuuden puuttuminen, kuitenkin olimme tänne asti selvinneet 2 viikon Sri Lankan lomalla ilman sikäläistä adapteria.

Vriendelijk gastvrij hotel

Prettig verblijf, met knusse oude kamer en beddengoed. Leuk zwembad en verder fijn hotel dat centraal gelegen is tussen station en tempel of tooth. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Great find in central Kandy

Great hotel in a very central location in Kandy. Our room was a good size and the hotel was able to provide a cot for our baby which we really appreciated. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was good - filled us up after a long journey the day before! All in all a really good stay, thanks for having us!

Good as base for day trips

This hotel has all the basics, generally clean, hot/cold water, quite a good breakfast buffet. It is also in an excellent location, around the corner from Kandy Lake and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. But that puts it on a busy street full of stores and restaurants which means it is noisy until later in to the evening. The lower rating is for overall maintenance, it's rundown and could do with some care. But the staff are very friendly and responsive to requests.

Bon rapport qualité prix. Très proche du Temple de la Dent, de plusieurs petits temples interessants en ville, de bons restaurants et des transports. Le staff était sympathique, le petit déjeuner bien, et il y a un certain charme dans l’an deco coloniale. La piscine est un plus. Malheureusement la propreté n’est pas 100% au rendez-vous - ce n’est-ce pas sale en soi, mais pas vraiment clean (tapis noircis, petites taches dans les draps...). Et l’an chambre était une peu vétuste (trous dans les murs par endroits...). A l’inverse, le hall, le restaurant du rez-de-chaussée et la piscine sont bien entretenus. L’hôtel présente malgré tout un rapport qualité/prix correct pour sa situation en hyper centre et au vu des tarifs plus élevés pratiqués à Kandy par rapport au reste du pays.

Great hotel in perfect location

Beautiful hotel in a great location, only five minutes from the temple of the tooth and the lake. Very good and efficient service. Our room was big, comfy with good air conditioning. The pool is very nice as is the roof top bar. Overall highly recommended!

Comfortable stay with good breakfast

Just stayed one night due to our tight schedule. Room was clean with a comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast. My only complaint is the pool closes at 7:30pm, so we did not get to use it since we had a full day of other activities planned.
