I live in Japan, and this is my favorite place where to stay. Five generations have kept and expanded this ryokan from its humble beginnings as a restaurant more than a hundred and twenty years ago, traces of which can still be appreciated at the front structure of the complex. Inside you will be greeted by an always friendly staff. A long hall entirely built on wood, crosses over a pond leading visitor to the central yard of the ryokan, a beautiful garden displaying Kyushuโ€™s pine trees and Japanese outer landscapes. At night you can enjoy delicious dinner at the room while seating over tatami and listening to the sound of waves from the nearby sea. Each room has its own personality and characteristics.

Great Ryokan

Great Ryokan with tradition and heritage. Beautiful building, clean rooms, serene garden, enthusiastic and helping staff. Japanese breakfast and Kaiseki dinner was top-notch. Can't ask for more in a pretty quiet town of Karatsu.
