"We loved Deniz and her many dogs. She is a wonderful host, so caring and eager to help. Her property is unique and very comfortable. You really feel like you are a treasured guest in her home. Deniz is always available to help and answer questions. She will arrange transportation to nearby sights as well. The breakfast is great too. Everything cooked to order."

"This hotel is easy walking distance to the main shops and transportation to Ani, as well as the Kars Castle and the train station. It also had surprisingly fast wifi, and a nice breakfast spread! The staff doesn't speak much (if any) English, and people were smoking in the main lobby (and rooms), but all in all I enjoyed my stay. "

Beautifully Restored Hotel

"2 night stay in room 201 in May. Hotel is a restored old building. Restorations were beautifully done. Service was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Room was very nice. Bathroom was spotless. Great location backing onto a river and near the castle. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Only negatives are very slight sewer smell in bathroom and I didn’t see air conditioning but when I was there a/c wasn’t needed. Highly recommended"

"This a beautiful hotel in a historic building, very close to many sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood has many restaurants and inviting cafes. Kars is a must visit city as it’s full of charm and history. Our stay at the hotel added to the pure enjoyment of this special city. "

A great stay

"Perfect stay. I loved everything about Kars Oteli. The building is one of the few remaining old Russian mansions in Kars, my room was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful long outside balcony. The bed was superb. The room had a fridge, kettle and coffee machine, also a cafetière. A good breakfast. Most of all Metin Bey was excellent, he found me a Turkish tour (museums, Ani, lake çıldır) for the next day, and helped with every query. He kindly packed me a good breakfast for the doğu ekspresi - lucky as there's no food on the train (only on the tourist one). I highly recommend staying here. "
