"We loved Island Jewel so much the first time we came that we extended our stay this year! The very clean and very well-laid-out cottage is located fifteen feet from the clearest ocean water and the biggest North Shore sky. We saw Planet Venus appear every night, as well as the star, Arcturus (known in Hawai'i as Hokule'a). Karson, the owner, is always very welcoming, kindly answering any questions we may have. I love that there is a communal washer/dryer area (which requires quarters). It's also so nice that the refrigerator has an ice-maker. The community itself is absolutely lovely, populated as it is with kind people and abundant plumeria trees and one of the most amazing Hala trees I have ever seen! It is always hard to leave this piece of Paradise. We would return in the blink of an eye!"

Reviewer Comments:
This is a lovely and relaxing place to stay. The view is beautiful. It is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get groceries and see sights. It is an older property but it is well maintained. I only have 2 complaints: 1. the bushes out front were a little tall, so when sitting outside it is hard to see the ocean. Please trim them. 2. The tv remote is ridiculous. The arrows do not go in the right direction and it is stressful trying to figure it out. The right arrow goes down, up goes right, etc. You need a new remote."
"If anything, the Hawaiian Princess undersells the view by not including a picture of the basic room showing the curtains open to the balcony. Our view from the balcony every night was turtles swimming around in the bay, which made for a wonderfully romantic experience."
Beautifully Furnished, New Renovation, A/C, Mtn/Ocean View, beach/golf/hiking!
10/10 Excellent
"The area was gorgeous, the condo was clean either a well furnished kitchen. It included things like beach chairs and pool towels which was great. It was only a mile to the closest beach which was definitely not overcrowded. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation."
"The property is older but pretty clean. The host and his wife were very hospitable and gave us lots of ideas for places to eat and go. The air conditioning took a while to cool the room off, but after that, it worked great. The whole room is about the size of a motel room. Our bed was very comfortable. This property is about an hour from Pearl Harbor and a hour and a half from the Polynesian culture center depending on traffic. If you are looking for a quiet affordable place to stay at the end of your day exploring Oahu this would work for you."

Charming Studio Apartment with Cold AC in fabulous Makaha
8/10 Good
"This property was off the beaten path of a small town that has very little to offer for travelers and we were told by locals the town was unsafe. This property had great people working at the security gate. Check in was difficult and not in line with the information given to us by the host. We were told to go to the office between 9-5 to get a parking permit but security indicated a paperwork authorization was not yet received by the host. Our check in was at 4 so we had to come back and wait for the authorization. Items were not stocked, ie., bathroom soap dispenser was out, there was no bathroom hand towel, found it later in a dresser in another room. No instructions or directions for laundry were to be found, as well as no book from the host regarding rental specifics. The bath tub was significantly damaged. This rental doesn’t feel tended to. There were peacocks everywhere which we love, but somewhat noisy. It was very tropical and beautiful."
Makaha Ocean Lullaby... The famous Makaha surf beach!

"Where do I even start. We moved to the island and needed a place to get settled into for 1 month before finding a permanent location. We had trouble with our original listing and Leon quickly accommodated us to his beautiful studio. The view is breathtaking, and the sounds of the ocean is calming. The building itself is extremely well-maintained and everyone is very friendly. We fell in love with the community and even got to enjoy a surf competition right outside our window. If we ever need a break from town, we will definitely be heading back here. Thanks for making it feel like home! "
"Heather’s suite is the perfect place to enjoy the west side of Oahu. We stayed 7 weeks and enjoyed the location with the ocean right below the Lanai! "
