We arrived early at about 10:30 and were allowed to leave our car while we explored Kendal. When we got back around 14:30 our room was ready so we went in and settled in. We were traveling by train and foot; the center of Kendal is a very easy walk from the train station. Number of different eateries in town, and it's situated on a river with some cobblestone streets, so very charming generally.
The town has so much history and beautiful old buildings. We visited the Abbot Hall art gallery and Museum of Lakeland life and industry. Abbot Hall is a Georgian house built in the mid 1700s. Lovely town with lots to see and do.
