"The Showboat under went a major facelift several years ago. You still get a sense that it has been around for a while, however all has been freshly updated. Our room was over looking the west side of Seneca Lake and the balcony allowed for a fantastic view of the sunrise, an occasional boat and several bird species. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We reached out for extra coffee and “real” wine glasses to enjoy purchases from the many wineries in the area. The restaurant on the property has limited hours, but a great place to grab a burger. They were also hosting BINGO night when we dined on Thursday. We had never played and it turned out to be pretty entertaining while having drinks. In closing, we have stayed in other nearby hotels, but we keep coming back to the SHOWBOAT!"

The Hotel Laurel at Seneca

"My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend vacation getaway. We love this place! It's not the fanciest place on Seneca Lake, but for the price, the upper level balcony view of the lake is so worth staying! We spend hours just sitting and looking out (awesome morning sunrises.) The room is pretty basic but provides what you need. We chose the room with the king bed, very comfortable and plenty of pillows. The shower took a while to get hot, but then it was more than enough. Staff was pleasant and helpful and no breakfast is provided (Restaurant on premises.) Parking is right in front of unit so easy loading and unloading vehicle. Not the first time we stayed here and will not be the last."

"We really enjoyed sitting on our balcony and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We also enjoyed having such proximity to a really good restaurant both for dinner and breakfast the next day. My only minor complaint was that we did smell smoke a lot when sitting outside because the guest lounge was right below us and I think that that’s where people went to smoke. We also had difficulty controlling the thermostat because it was one we had never used."

"Room clean. Breakfast bar is just enough to get you going. Single floor is nice for disability. Parking good. Didn’t really see much of any staff, but everything deserved a 4 star."
Colonial Inn & Creamery

"The location downtown & close to shopping, the lake, & the entrance to Watkins Glen gorge trail was outstanding. A QR code check in was not expected but the female employee working the creamery stepped up to help me with the process. There was no one working a front desk & no elevator. The parking spaces were extra small & cars parked over lines taking up 2 spaces. Young people were loud up until around 1am making sleep difficult. The room was clean & bed comfortable."
