Sought after building 10 nicely remodeled unit with cherry cabinets and granite counters in the kitchen and both bathrooms. The kitchen is fully-equipped with stainless steel appliances. The spacious living area is tastefully furnished with stylish contemporary island-style furnishings and large flat screen HDTV, DVD player. The ocean view master bedroom also has a large flat screen TV. The outdoor lanai (patio) has great ocean views and overlooks the landscaped courtyard area with fountain. FREE wireless high-speed internet access.

The bedrooms are all very separated, offering privacy for families or friends traveling together and offer TV's and Split A/C's. The living room features a Queen sofa sleeper and a television as well. *Please note that the 3rd bedroom closes off from the living room with a wall of sliding frosted doors.

Beach access is just across the street from Kamaole Sands (there are no condos on the other side of the road, just Kamaole III Beach Park), and many shops and restaurants are within walking distance. This unit includes quick-dry microfiber beach towels, lightweight beach chairs, and an umbrella. Baby items such as full-size crib, Pack-n-Play, stroller, high chair, and booster chair available to rent from a local on island baby equipment rental agency.

Great, family friendly

We stayed for 3 weeks, the condo was great. It was clean, beds are comfortable. The sofa bed was difficult to pull in and out, but I think it’s because the mattress was replaced and is the most comfortable sofa bed we’ve been on. Had some connectivity issues with the wifi for the first week of our stay. Once that was settled, no complaints.

Great family unit

The condo was perfect for 6 adults and an infant. Being on the ground floor gave us lots of access to the grassy area to play. The location within the complex has a beautiful view of the ocean and is far enough back from the road that you do not have traffic noise. The condo is well equipped with towels, kitchen supplies, beach toys umbrella and chairs, swim goggles, the list goes on. The beds are super comfortable and the bedrooms are spacious. The lanai is one of the smaller ones in the complex but with the ground floor and grass space it’s a non issue.The complex amenities are all great. They keep the ground spotless and even clean the bbqs every night. The property management company was very responsive before and during our stay. Overall an A!

We love Kamaole Sands

We have stayed on this property several times. Each unit has been different. This one was a little dated and the third bedroom was a little odd but did the job! The air conditioning was first rate and the views from the lanai were what you expect in Hawaii.

Beautiful spot perfect for 2 families traveling together.

This was a lovely condo as described and we really enjoyed the view of the lawn and fountain with the ocean in the background. It worked well for our 2 small families. A couple of bath towels were missing when we arrived but that was quicky remedied by the property management. The only downfall of this unit was that the patio was very small and faces directly west which is hot in the late afternoon sun.

Great unit and location

We had a great stay overall and the unit has made some upgrades since two years ago, such as window treatments in the bedrooms. The check-in was late because cleaning was still ongoing, but we managed ok. We plan to stay here again, which will be our third, and sixth overall at Kama’ole Sands.

Family Time in Maui

Our stay at this condo in Maui was an enjoyable experience, thanks to its excellent location and some fun amenities. The condo's location was superb—just a short walk to beautiful beaches and close to charming local shops and restaurants. The patio provided stunning ocean views, making it a perfect spot for watching the sunset. Its central location made exploring the island convenient and enjoyable. The overall cleanliness fell short of what we had hoped for. Our feet were black the first day and the linens were stained. The beach chairs provided were quite worn out and broken. On a positive note, the condo’s amenities were a highlight. We absolutely loved the pickleball courts!

Unbelievable in every sense!

The experience with Villa Ombre was top notch! The owner, the staff, the property, everything was absolutely perfect to make a memorable week with friends. We have rented several villas and this is by far our favorite. The layout of the house allows space for people to not feel on top of each other. The amenities are second to none. The local staff was happy, attentive, and so very helpful. The beds in this villa are comfortable and probably the best we've ever had in a rented property. This property and the Villa Ombre team is outstanding!

Maui Memories-Top notch place to stay!

Beautiful grounds, clean and easy access to unit. This unit is perfect if you have small children that love to be outside! Great views of the sunset and the beach is an easy walk across the lawn. Enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio while the kids have room to explore the grounds and still be within our sight. 3rd room was a little small with no extra space for hanging clothes or storing suitcases, but this was easily resolved by sharing the closets of the other room(s). Beach supplies were plentiful, even for children! Recommend a good once over before using the beach chairs and other items, to look for and discard anything behind by the prior guest. Pool and hot tubs were clean and a nice addition when the beach is windy in the afternoon!

Good but not great

Nice property, great location. We had a long stay of roughly 10 days. Some of the appliances (washer/dryer, bathroom fans) are getting very tired and as a result were very noisy, to the point where it was a nuisance. More frustrating though was the lack of storage. The pantry is locked/not available and the limited cupboards are full of dishes. Meaning there is no place to put food that doesn't go in the fridge. It was a major pain when trying to manage the kitchen and food and trying to prevent it from overflowing into the condo. Would stay again, but will look hard for a better deal than what we paid.

ok place to stay

This property was just ok. I think extremely over priced all things considered - the photos make the property look pristine, but it’s actually pretty run down and old (which is totally ok, just don’t expect new/pristine). I don’t understand why we paid as much of a cleaning fee as we did when we were asked to do some cleaning ourselves. This property is a three bedroom with expected 8 people to stay there but they only give you one parking space - we had to park the second car in the visitor parking which was a little bit of a walk when you’re carrying a lot of stuff - also they only supplied two rolls of toilet paper, one roll of paper towel, and two garbage bags - this was not nearly enough for 8 people on a 1week stay - we were expected to buy more ourselves. Neighbors were quiet, there was some street noise but it wasn’t too bad. The beach was very close, easy to walk to. Messaging the owners was interesting, I always got a reply but I never knew who I was talking to - the owner or the resort staff. We had a couple of issues (door and ceiling fan) but they took care of it right away, no problem! Overall this property was ok, definitely not worth what we paid for it.

Kamaole Sands Unit review

poor communication from management to guests-never answered phone calls! towels very limited and poor quality-asked again and again before we got better and more towels! No space for grocery items in cupboard-ended up with mice in kitchen-did not respond when reported to management! One guest was bitten by centipede and ended up going to medical centre! no response from management! Safe did not work and needed a safecracker to open it at our cost-were told the battery was low and never replaced! $250 charge to guest! No note saying not to use safe! No response from management! Apparently reviews have been similar! Would not suggest renting this unit until improvements made by management company!

Great location and a/c

We loved our stay at this property. It was a very convenient location right across from the beach and Kihei is centrally located on the island which made it easy to get to everything we wanted to see. We were greeted with an unexpected bowl of fresh fruit, candy, and nuts on the dining room table (including a ready-to-eat pineapple). The grounds of this complex are beautiful and well-kept. The provided beach chairs were great! The a/c was heavenly! They also provide really nice microfiber beach towels. We found similar ones on Amazon and plan on buying some. As others have mentioned, there was some sand and dirt on the floor, but given all the benefits this home offers, this did not bother us. I think the vacuum that the cleaners are using just does not pick up sand very well. We have a beach house in CA and have learned that only certain vacuums will do a good job of picking up all the sand. We also found sand in some of the beds so would recommend checking them as soon as you arrive so you can throw the sandy sheets in the washer if this bothers you. I am guessing that someone overloaded the washing machine with too many sheets and sandy towels at one time which caused some sand to remain in the sheets. Overall, we had a great time and would not hesitate to stay here again!

A first-time stay at the Sands

The property is in a fantastic location, with wonderful amenities, and a splendid view. We had coffee every morning on the patio, looking out onto the garden and fountains. In the evening, we took advantage of the meticulously kept, communal barbecues, and the outdoor tables (be sure to reserve one at the front office, as they fill quickly!). The condo is well laid-out, and easy to move through. The kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils; but, there were no spices, oil, or any of the other basics that we’ve normally been provided, in other rentals. Additionally, there was nothing to clean the kitchen with, nor any hand soap to wash hands, while preparing meats, etc, and a lack of paper towels; so, we were forced to shop for those items ourselves. In addition to a lack of basics in the kitchen, there were only 4 rolls of toilet paper for 6 adults over 10 days, which was clearly not enough. In the end, after communicating with the property manager, he kindly refunded us for our purchases, which was much appreciated. Ironically, the following day, we received and email from VRBO, stating that the place only comes with a bare few items. Had we had that, in advance of our arrival, the back-and-forth with Manager Dan would not have been necessary. We’ll know for next time! Though the unit only comes with one parking spot, one can register a car at the front desk, for overnight parking in the visitor lot. There are little kids’ toys, as well as beach chairs, in the outside locker; but, no body boards available. Rent those, if you need. The one beach umbrellas that is intact is quite small (for kids), while the larger of the two is broken, and requires some ingenuity to keep up.

Views to die for, held 6 very comfortably, semi-accessible.

First the resort: The resort is amazing. A five star location, across the street from fabulous beaches, close to great shops and restaurants, with really well kept grounds and amenities, including a pool lift! Check-in was easy with friendly and welcoming front-desk staff. Second the condo: The condo has some outstanding features. It is ground floor and 3 bedrooms so 6 of us were able to stay very comfortably. Because 1 of us is in a wheelchair the ground floor was lovely - although there are spacious elevators in all the buildings. The view from the lanai is breathtaking - you look out over the beautiful grounds to the ocean - the colorful fountains make it even more breathtaking in the evening. The beds were all very comfortable for sleeping although the pull out couch was not great for sitting on so I would recommend only 6 people stay here. We also appreciated the heavy curtains and shutters on the windows - with daytime temperatures of 85 + degrees, keeping these closed helped us keep the condo cooler. The air conditioning in each room helped even more. We called maintenance for a small issue with the fridge freezer - they were over in an hour and the problem was fixed in a couple of minutes. Other appliances worked fine (though we did not use the oven). However, there were only two hand towels in the condo (1 per bathroom) so more would have been very helpful, and better quality toilet paper would also be nice. Two more patio chairs for the lanai would help make this a great condo for six. Though the lanai is small, being ground floor there is room to move onto the grounds, and, given the view, it was the favorite spot for all of us to gather. In terms of cleanliness, the 4 (as opposed to 5) stars is because we pulled out a baking pan that had never been used but never washed and because the chandelier above the table - while really unique - was completely covered in dust. Four stars for communication was because we requested a late checkout so that the person in a wheelchair could have some time to lay down before we caught our flight and we never received any response to our request. In terms of accessibility there are a couple of things to note: First, the ground floor made it so easy to get in and out. Second, there is a wonderful large walk-in shower in the primary bedroom that fit a shower chair. However, door openings to both bathrooms are only about 24 inches so this made the shower quite inaccessible for the wheelchair.
