"This house was very comfortable and cute. Just a few minutes to the beach and restaurants in Avon. Loved that it came with beach chairs, ice chests, a variety of bikes and skateboards and wagons. My 8-year-old was able to use the smallest bike, but kids younger than that wouldn’t be able to. I didn’t think to bring beach towels, but there is a store that sells all things beach a couple minutes away. Also, pack shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. I’ve noticed many VRBOs come with these, but this house doesn’t. There’s a grocery store a few minutes away, though."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the surf chalet. The location could not have been better, with a short walk to the gorgeous beach in Avon. The space was perfect for our family of five, with four rooms and four queen beds. Daniel was quick to respond to any messages. We are delighted that we chose this location, far from the busy streets in the north. It was so relaxing! "

"Perfect for me traveling solo. The place was extremely clean. The towels were soft. The sheets were soft. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was the best bed I have ever had in renting places in OBX for 30 years. Everything I needed was there. About a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. My favorite seafood market in walkable distance. The deck was private. It was quiet. There is the pattering of feet during waking hours above that I got used to quickly. The neighborhood is quiet. The host is very kind and helpful. I was very happy with my stay. "

"We recently stayed at this property and wanted to share some important feedback.First and most concerning: the bunk bed ladder in our son’s room had several loose nails. This is a serious safety issue—especially for a child’s sleeping area. Honestly, it’s hard to understand why nails were used instead of screws in such a critical fixture.Second, the dishwasher was completely nonfunctional during our stay. There was no water entering the unit, and it’s clear this wasn’t a new issue. It simply wasn’t working when we arrived, which was both inconvenient and disappointing.Additionally, the Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable, making it difficult to stay connected even briefly.While we appreciated Vacasa’s quick responses to our messages, unfortunately no actual action was taken to resolve the dishwasher issue. As a consequence I asked for a partial refund—and again, there was no follow-up.We booked this stay with the expectation of a safe and functional space for our family, but the lack of maintenance and meaningful support made it a frustrating experience. We hope this feedback helps improve future guest experiences, but as it stands, we were deeply disappointed.Sincerely,Guido "

"The house was exactly as advertised online. We arrived to a very clean house. The neighborhood was very, very quiet and we were surprised to see that almost, if not all the houses on the street were locals and not rental houses. The property manager was awesome, she texted us to welcome us and was also very quick to help when we lost our door code and got locked out. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The kitchen was well stocked, bed was very comfortable, as was the living room furniture. A++++"
