"I am so happy we stayed at the Pilsley Inn. It is located in a lovely little village just outside of Chatsworth House. I felt like I had stepped back in time. We only stayed one night as our itinerary was very full, but I would definitely recommend this Inn. the people were friendly, and it was a perfect stay for my English holiday!"

"We stayed for 1 night on our way to a MSV trackday at Donnington Park. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the River Trent. The location was great. Parking was fine and overall a pleasant stay. We chose to eat in the restaurant - unfortunately too few staff meant service was not great. The Sunday roast was ok but also not great. "

"Loved this place. The setting is beautiful as was our room. A real mixture of old and new that worked perfectly. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we truly felt welcome. "Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. "

"We had reason to request to move room and the staff were very accommodating and looked after us well - top marks for that. The evening dinner (pie of the day) was actually unexpectedly excellent and the accompanying veggies were nice and crisp - very enjoyable. The only minor quibble was that due to TV mounting it was next to impossible to get a HDMI stick plugged in (something maybe to check into). Anyhow, all in all, nicely situated and a nice place to stay at and all the staff we encountered...

"The room was very basic. It was disappointing that the bathroom facilities weren’t self-contained, and the shower is essentially right next to the bed. Another issue was the parking. It costs £5 per night if you book through a third party like Expedia, which you have to pay on arrival, whereas it’s free if you book directly through Ibis. The difference isn’t very clear and feels a bit inconsistent. The noise from other guests early in the morning also disturbed my sleep, which didn’t help the...
