"This is a really cute little flat. It had everything we needed. One bedroom and a really nice modern bathroom. The kitchenette was well stocked and the hosts stocked the fridge with food for our first breakfast. We drove to the Tesco, but we could have walked. The yard is well kept and the neighbour is very friendly. We loved our stay here. It is beneficial if you have a car. They do have a convenient parking spot and driveway."

"The toilet was so high up i couldn't do a sh*t. I'm six foot tall, but when I was sat on the toilet my feet were not touching the ground. Overall, the place was pretty bleak, e.g. no mirror in the bedroom to check my outfit, only one pillow so I got neck ache in bed, no towel rail or hooks anywhere in the bathroom so couldn't hang up a towel, no hook in the bedroom to hang up a coat, no toilet roll holder. "Location location location. This is the best location for old town. You get lovely views of the castle each day and night when you book those rooms. I loved my stay here. Breakfast each morning was the BEST! The staff were very helpful and incredible as well. Loved my stay here. Only downside is the heating in the room is not individually controlled and can run very hot if you aren’t used to sleeping warm. But that is absolutely nothing to worry about because everything else here makes that unimportant."

"The lobby was spectacular. Three staff members at the desk ready to check in customers or just ready for any questions/ concerns. They were accommodating from helping us maneuver through the property on the floor zero to get to the nearby station to letting us leaving our luggage at the lobby area on our check our day. Rooms were more than enough for two people. We had a two twin bed and they were put together to make one bed. The desk was a nice perk for the room as there was a mirror that would fold up and down attached to the desk to help get ready to put on makeup or to use if you have to work. Bathroom was spectacular in terms of cleanliness. Sink is a bit small but made it work. The only flaw is the water in the shower may get out because the shower door is completely flushed to the door or shower wall. So be sure to keep a towel on the bathroom floor at the shower entrance so water doesn’t get on there. Other than that it’s a hotel I’ll come to again. AC was available so big plus. The water and milk for coffee being refilled everyday is a big plus too. The bar and restaurant in the lobby area make for good spots to congregate for coworkers, family, friends, or whoever."

"The Mountain Royal Hotel has an amazing location and was the home base of our travels in the lowlands. Breakfast was very good for a buffet/continental style offering. The only criticism I have would be the ridiculous showers. There was literally no way to shower with our soaking the entire bathroom. Very strange design decision."

"Hotel was clean and great location! Only major issue with stay was that room was way too hot, even with room AC as low as it would go (20 C). Would stay here again for sure just for the convenient location (to trams, trains, and buses, as well as Haymarket being a great neighborhood itself)… but would not stay here in the hot summer months."

"This hotel is perfectly placed for those wishing toto take advantage of everything on the Royal Mile. It is ugly outside tho with scaffolding al around. No work is being done however. They could use something more to to on soelevators and the breakfast is expensive. I, however, felt safe and totally happy with my room and the location of the hotel."
