Hotel Spalentor offers a wonderful, well run place to stay in a perfect location for access to the old town or to get to the train station. Old school kind of place wheree they give you a physical key for your room but everything is clean as a whistle.

This place is in a great location. Few steps and you’re in the heart of Basel. Saturdays in the park across the street is a market where you can find amazing antiques and other great finds. Staff are friendly and even loaned me a plugin adapter as mine for some reason didn’t work here. You’ll also get a pass to take the trams for free around the city! This hotel is very clean comfy and close to the airport! The best thing I enjoyed most is the yummy breakfast! It’s worrh the money!!!! I will cone back and book it again! Thank you also to the wonderful staff! They are very nice accomodating friendly and speak good english too!

We had a suite on the top floor, large wrap around balcony, fabulous bathroom with bathtub, separate shower, 2 vessel sinks, toilet room, and a TV to watch while bathing. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were super friendly and spent as much time as needed answering our questions and providing us with a converter.

The hotel was very nice, located in central Basel. The only downside was that it, apparently like other recently renovated hotels, did not have air conditioning (and it was unseasonably hot in Basel.

It is a boutique hotel as it claims. But has all the comfort and convenience that a big 5 star hotel can offer. Very clean. Location is perfect. Restaurant, grocery shopping, tourist attraction area, 3 stops away from train station and 5 minutes walk to tram station. Great convenient stay right near the airport. The bus to the airport is immediately across the street and starts operating at 4:20am if you have an early flight, otherwise they have an airport shuttle starting around 6 as well. Great comfortable rooms, quiet, and an easy public transit to the city

Loved this hotel. Staff made us feel Welcome and special from the beginning, with little touches like bringing us lattes in the lobby when we arrived early and were waiting for our room. We scheduled an extra day to spend some time in the area. We were able to use the free local bus system that stopped right across the street from the hotel.

Everything was excellent! Especially the staff. Carla at the front desk was kind and thoughtful. Our room was very modern and clean. The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. Highly recommend!

This is a good and clean hotel with excellent transport options and nearby shopping. The number 8 tram stops are a one minute walk away. One direction goes into Basel reaching several popular areas including the Messe convention area and the main train station. This is a surprisingly nice hotel in a great location. We travelled with another couple and their room was the standard size for European accommodations. However, our room on the top floor was larger with a very cool sky light window. Nevertheless, both rooms were very clean and modern. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
