Very welcoming staff and nice service. The room was a little older, but very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The rooftop spa was fantastic, and the breakfast was excellent both mornings. Highly recommend for a nice stay in a historic spot in Kōchi!
This hotel is everything a traveler is looking for from a truly friendly and courteous staff, a super clean room, excellent breakfast menu, and very fair price - thank you!
The staff was excellent and helpful. The location
was great. Unfortunately, it states there's laundry service, but it's actually off premise at a public laundromat
The hotel is conveniently located close to Kochi Castle & Hirome Market. Great buffet breakfast featuring specialty foods of Kochi. All the staff here provided exceptional service. Domo Arigato to Yuko who went above and beyond every day in assisting with our Kochi City touring plans. We had a wonderful visit in Kochi!
Our 3-night stay at Jyoseikan was comfortable and pleasant. The staff was extremely polite and responsive to all our inquiries and requests. Our room was traditional Japanese style, a bit dated but well maintained. The breakfast buffet had a wonderful variety of Japanese and Western style dishes, all very delicious. Would definitely recommend Jyoseikan to anyone and would stay here again on future trips.
A typical Japanese hotel. Very good service. We had a half board option, including breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a buffet, combining Japanese, western food and local produce. Dinner is a typical Japanese Kaiseki meal. If you don't know Japanese food very well you may find it difficult, but if you know it, you can enjoy everything. If you like onsen style bathing (not natural onsen), you can enjoy at the top of the building. It also has a sauna and outside hot bath as well. I really enjoyed staying. It is a top quality hotel, with great food and real attention to detail.
The entire team was extremely accommodating, polite and attentive. They were patient and kind wuth us as we used a translation app to bridge our language barrier. The room was clean and well maintained. Our only wish was that the shikibuton were a little thicker and pillows a little softer.
The room was incredibly overpriced for what it offered. I have stayed in many hotels & ryokans in Japan and even in the Kochi area, and all of them offered a much superior experience, with a larger room, better staff and meals for a lower price. My room was advertised as being for 4 people, but was tiny and located right outside the kitchen area on my floor--so I was often disturbed by loud dishes being banged outside my door, that were being prepped for delivery to other rooms.
