"My wife and I took our two twenty-something kids to Hawaii for a family vacation, including visit to Kaua'i. Hallor House was perfect for us as we needed at least two bedrooms, preferably with separate beds for brother and sister. House was very clean and well appointed. Kitchen had everything you could want -- all high-end stuff. Property manager very helpful and accessible. House was super comfortable. Great lanai. If you are looking for a quiet, mellow, north shore get-away that is close to arguably the best beach on the island (Tunnels), this is it. "

"This property is amazing!! We found the home bigger and nicer than what it looks like from the pictures. It accommodates 6 adults easily with lots of space. It is right on the beach (not swimmable though) and the grassy/shady lawn is perfect spot. The best part is the lanai-it is large with a table for 6, 2 oversized comfy chairs and a hot tub. The view is amazing! Tunnels beach is just around the corner-a quick 15 minute walk with calmer water to swim and snorkel. Beach is not busy or crowded. Responses from host were quick (the only thing we needed was trash/recycling emptied) and we had no problems during our stay. It is a quiet, remote location that offers solitude. Even though the rental right next door is close, we never heard the visitors and still felt secluded. We hope to come back to this exact rental in the future! "

"This beautiful home on the north shore of Kauai is stunning! When you walk in, you can literally see the waves crashing on the shore. The louvered windows keep the tropical breeze flowing through the house, while keeping the bugs out. Plus there are plenty of ceiling and floor fans to boost the breeze when necessary. The water pressure is great. The kitchen is perfectly appointed with necessities like foil and sandwich baggies. The master bedroom bed is close enough to the ocean that you will fall asleep to the sound of the waves. We came away so well rested. We've stayed in Haena probably 8 times over the years, and you can't beat it for fulfilling your rural, private tropical fantasies. We spent a few days just sitting right outside the backyard on the beach and watching the waves and the turtles. The beach is swimmable very close to shore at this time of year. But be cautious because it can get very choppy. The walk to Tunnels - around the point - is a 15-minute walk. We timed it. It is less breezy there with a nicely protected cove for snorkeling. The walk is challenging with the deep, brown sugar sand -- but well worth the effort. We would stay here again many times over! We loved it! I'd recommend to the owners to update the front door lock. It is electronic but took sometimes 5-8 tries to get it to open. It's a little tricky."
