Athena Beach

"Athena Hotel, Kokkari – Our Second Visit We've just returned for our second stay at Athena Hotel, and our experience was very much the same as our first visit. The hotel's location is fantastic, just across a small road from the beautiful pebbled beach, with Kokkari's lovely restaurants, bars and shops all within easy walking distance. It's a wonderful base for enjoying the village and exploring Samos. The hotel continues to offer good value for money, with a lovely pool area and an excellent location. As with our previous visit, there are still areas where improvements could be made, particularly regarding the rooms could do with updating better pillows and breakfast is very basic. One noticeable improvement this time was the Wi-Fi. We stayed in room 40, and the internet connection was considerably better than during our first visit, which was a welcome change. Overall, our opinion of Athena Hotel remains the same. It's a lovely place to stay if location and value for money are your priorities. Although there are still a few areas that could benefit from attention, we enjoyed returning and would happily recommend it to anyone wanting to experience beautiful Kokkari."

Awesome home in Samos

"I emphasize we would stay here again. The villa is great for large group, with kids or elderly (mom stayed in first floor whole time), kids had own rooms with TV AC and loved the pool when stayed in. 4 bathrooms!! and plenty of spaces to hang out all together. Location is great close to long beach and the center but very partial water view. Decor is modern lots of tile and everything looks good overall - but not traditional Greek. Kostas is responsive & accommodating to needs (Pool lights needed changing and 1 toilet kept sticking).PROBLEMS: poor communication through VRBO. NOVASOL hosts and you have to get on their website and search for your reservation or you will never get a response or kostas local phone number. I was distraught for months with no one responding. Owner non-existent.Pool was clean and Kostas purposely under chlorinates due to initial guest complaints but NO hint of chlorine...a little more would be reassuring of proper sanitation. Superficial cleaningness, requiring us to have to sweep & Clorox wipe toilets, showers & counters. Not sure of Greek standard but could have been tons more thorough - but nothing egregious. Balcony porch door operation is tricky and most electronics are not intuitive everything requiring a learning curve. Excessive light switches with confusing orientation and layout that should be labeled. Lack of amenities like trash bags, paper towels, coffee, orgames surprising. No dedicated parking but public within 5 min walk."

"The staff were amazing, so kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast was so tasty and had a good variety of food. The hotel is situated in the centre of Kokkari near tavern's, restaurants and the beach. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return"

"This hotel is clean and comfortable and has a beautiful ocean view. It is in a great location for sightseeing around Samos, and accessing the ferries at Vathy and Pythagoreio. The food at the restaurant is quite good."
