Search Country Houses in Kokonoe

First off let me preface this by saying that you have to be open minded. Some foreigners want to go to a place and have it be just like home but in another country. If you are looking for a western style hotel that has a happening nightlife and tons of bars and people around, then this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for the real Japanese experience with a nice quiet getaway and amazing private onsens (private hot spring soaking baths) then this is your place. The staff was...

Very interesting landscape and loved the osen. It is one of the few private osens where I could bathe with my partner. One thing that should be made clear on the Expedia description is that you can only pay with cash!

A really nice Japanese style Onsen Hotel with great staff and a warm atmosphere. Their traditional Japanese breakfast was amazing as was the family onsen. Just a short walk from the train station and super close to all the shopping and food stores on the Main Street.

Traditional ryokan style. Beautiful surroundings. Very traditional but spacious room. Wonderful Onsen. Close to cute shops and yummy snacks.

Kind, helpful staff, with a lovely cozy cabin including our own private onsen tub! The grill set and the chance to bring ingredients and cook or own meals on the private terrace made the stay so special and memorable.

Amazing food, beautiful property grounds, best service (especially Yuji was super helpful and kind) . Highly recommend this Ryokan!

Great

Beautiful clean room, Onsen was great and so relaxing. Dinner was traditional Japanese and as good as I’ve EVER had. I would 100% recommend to anyone. We intend to return frequently.

This was a gem of a hotel in the middle of NOWHERE. But I can't fault the hotel with that. The hotel was very clean, staff was nice and my room is huge for even Western standards. Just nothing to eat around that location... 😯

All the facilities in this hotel were very clean, operational, and fantastic to use. In particular, the staff in this hotel were absolutely amazing. They were the most friendly and welcoming people that we have ever met, especially the staff in the restaurants. The food served was very fresh and delicious as well. My room was very spacious and clean. There were superb private onsens in the hotel. It was very easy to communicate with the hotel staff in English. Would absolutely recommend for...

We found this place the last minute after we decided to stay for overnight instead of making it a day-trip from Fukuoka. Absolute good decision! Everything is so good: room, staff, and the venue. Love it.

Staff was incredibly helpful, location is perfect Thank you!

Good

Excellent stay. Beautiful room with beautiful scenery. Meals were superb - absolutely meticulously prepared and presented. Baths were great too.

The property itself was super spacious. The best part was using the whole building to our own. We didn’t get bothered from anyone, nor did we bother someone else. The Onsen was also very enjoyable. I would definitely come back here with my family again.

Room was huge and the mattress was first-rate. Staff were exceptionally helpful. The entire property was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was varied and delicious. It was just as advertised.

The staff was extraordinarily helpful. There is a onsen that is great just across the road and they give you a discount ticket for it. The rooms were very stylishly decorated and comfortable and large. They have a continental type breakfast sandwich, but we’re not really into breakfast much so we only ate it once. They do have coffee available. The coffee is quite good. We went to the music café just down the street for an interesting and good meal but most restaurant options require a car or a...
