  • Upon entering through the front door you will discover your own luxurious, oceanfront sanctuary. Kukui’ula Kai offers its guests a thoughtful and spacious layout with 2 private master suites that offer amazing views and sounds of the ocean to lull you to sleep.

    An oceanfront swimming pool offers picturesque sunsets, crashing waves and seasonal migrating whales, dolphins and turtles. Kick back and relax on the expansive lanai or gather in the great room and make some lasting memories. A fully equipped kitchen with ocean views makes meal preparations a breeze.

    This 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bathroom main house and detached one bedroom/one bath guest cottage make this the perfect place for extended families. It is also possible just to rent the main 3 bedroom home! Please inquire for details and pricing.

    *Reservation Fee of $150.00 is non-refundable upon cancellation. Please see guest rental agreement for all reservation requirements/conditions.

Wonderful home

This is a beautiful home with a lanai you never want to leave. Central to everything. The property is clean and well maintained. Also, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and all the usual items. You can’t go wrong choosing this property.

Great Oceanside Location

Great location. Great pool (not heated, but ok in December) and outdoor space. Lots of space inside with comfortable furniture. Sea breezes and fans counteract lack of a/c, although space above garage gets a little warm (even in December). The pool looks very new. The rest of the house is clean and tidy, although the wear and tear of the marine environment is evident in places. We had a great time!

Slice or Paradise

We loved this house. It was in a great location. 1/2 hour from airport and all major shopping. Close to small town shopping. There was plenty of room for me and my husband and our 3 grown children and significant others. As in previous reviews, it could only be made better by the addition of air-conditioning. Specifically in the garage apartment. It was just too hot. The house does have some wear and tear. But typical of a house on the ocean. We played in the pool every night under the stars. The Milk-Way sat above us. It was the perfect temperature and so magical. There were sea turtles outside the front and even some of the most magnificent rainbows ever seen. A very special trip.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property!

Our family of 5, (kids 6,10, and 12) thoroughly enjoyed this property. The location is wonderful, super quiet and peaceful but very close to town and all the restaurants/beaches. The beach/boat dock 2 houses down is also super fun and a nice swimming spot without many tourists. House was super clean and well appointed. Great kitchen. Pool is deep for little kids. It goes from 3-5 feet, but the 3 feet section is very small so our youngest needed a float of some kind. Turtles surf the waves in front of the house, and the ocean crashing begets the best sleep of your life. The only drawback was no A/C. When we arrived and realized the house had no A/C my husband panicked! We had a Maui vacation without A/C that was brutal. In the end, when all the windows are open, this house stays really pleasant. Lots of fans and cross breezes. We stayed at the end of July and we were never overly hot. We loved this house, think it was a good value for the location and quality of the property, and we can't wait to stay there again.

The Kukuiula Kai was a perfect spot for our group of senior families celebrating spring break. Our two families staying at the house loved getting up every morning sitting on the lanai and drinking our coffee. We saw dolphins, whales, and even a monk seal. Such a relaxing and beautiful location. We will definitely be back.

A wonderful walk to Spouting Horn or the Botanical Gardens or along the path to a close-by shopping area. House was perfect for a large family with great ventilation and lots of room to spread out. Towels and linens were wonderful, garden and pool were lovely and well maintained. House needs some maintenance and being right on the water really takes a toll on things. But rental company very responsive to get things resolved. My only suggestion would be for longer term rentals to include cleaning once weekly in contract.

But what distinguishes this one is the expansive lanai with comfy furniture overlooking the stunning ocean and shaded from the sun. We have been coming to Poipu for 25 years and have stayed many homes along the south coast, the last three years at Kukui'ula Kai. We love the property, amenities and location. Great House and Location

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay. The kids loved the pool, I loved the tidal pools right along the yard, everyone loved the turtles feeding just off shore. If you love the sound of crashing waves, this is the place for you. Plenty of room for the 7 of us.

A wonderful respite

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was a vacation in itself. We enjoyed the sound of the crashing waves, swimming in the pool, and walking to the little beach at the end of the street where the locals launched their boats. It was close enough to the Napaali coast and to the Waimea Canyon.

Be careful of the apartment over garage

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There were three couples and a single in our group, all adults. We all liked the main house very much but the room above the garage was not good. The toilet ran constantly and leaked so you had to physically turn it on and off before using it. There was a note taped to the lid of the toilet saying this, and also that someone would be by to fix it on Monday (we arrived on Friday). The shower was tiny and not very nice. The oven timer came on every morning at 5:00 am and there was absolutely no way to turn it off (all of us tried to figure it out). But the worst part was that nobody came to fix any of the problems, nor would take our calls or call us back, or even return an email! We vacationed there the first week of December and have been trying to contact them since to no avail. We were hoping to receive a little of the $11,000 we paid them back for the inconveniences. We Still haven’t been able to contact anyone. I didn’t want to leave a bad review but that’s the choice they’ve left us. There are many nice properties around there so had we known we’d have these issues, we’d definitely have taken a different one. But if you aren’t going to need the room over the garage, the house was very nice - as long as you don’t need to contact anyone. Hope this review helps others.

Great House & View & Pool - No A/C, construction next door

This is the second home we have rented on the same street in Poipu. I'm always hoping to rent a house twice because you travel/rent with hesitation about trying a new property out at this kind of budget. The house was wonderful: cute furniture, spectacular view & refreshing pool. The amenities (linens, dishes, mattresses) - so/so. But, our hopes were dashed when we arrived & there was construction & a huge dumpster next door - the work crew, there, advised us that our prop manager should have given us a heads up. We crossed our fingers & during the stay - the work noise never got too bad but 8 am coffee outside to view/listen to the ocean was met with (unexpected) clanging & banging. The other item that I missed when booking was lack of a/c in the house. Very minimal improvements would make this a 5 STAR - small a/c units for each bedroom, fresh batch of crisp cotton linens, pillows, mattresses, dishes and clean lamp shades (much needed a deep clean along with the window shutters). The mgmt company left a welcome card at entry, but didn't email or text once during our stay.
