OMG this was beautiful! What a fabulous experience...a delicious, fresh breakfast was included with a table set for each guest...the restaurant for dinner was amazing and reasonable, the rooms were comfortable and quiet. There is a giant cobblestone hill to climb so be in good shape and the tv didn't really work but we didn't come to watch tv...also Kronach is very lovely.
The personal was unfriendly and no service. Restaurant was owerpriced and the quality was Lower than a normal working canteen. Nice location, but why is it discount experience. Breakfast would have been better if they hired some professional personal. No conditioner or shampoo in the bad-room. Only minor TV with german television.
Been to many hotels the last years. This is by far the worst experience. I only recommend to stay here to see how not to run a hotel.
This hotel is a castle! Very nice property and the staff were very helpful. We got in late so it was dark. Finding the front door was not easy since none of the lights were on like in the picture on the website. Also parking is not close either. We followed a couple in who were out for a walk and they helped guide us to the front door. No lights or visible signs directing you to the hotel entrance. We never would have found it without that couple. Once we found the front door we were able to drive our rental car to the entrance and unload our bags. There is an elevator and the lights are motion activated in the halls so that was very helpful. Plenty of space in our room and the bathroom was handicap accessible though we didn’t need it.
Breakfast was delicious and we had our same table every morning. Dinner was also an option but we chose to eat dinner in the village each night.
They have same day laundry which we took advantage of. There is also a challenge course for the kids. This was my favorite hotel of our 10 day trip.
Rigtig sjovt at bo på en gammel borg.
